Hi Justin, as I said in the dedicated thread, can you think about a mute-like function for automation items so we can record on them without modify them (useful in certain situations)?
Also, is there a way to write notes (not on region header) always visibles along the track.
1. If I add a Spectral Edit to a grouped Item, it will add one to all grouped Items. So far, so good. But if I edit it, it only applies to one Item of the group. Shouldn't it logically affect all grouped items as long as they're grouped?
2. Spectral Edit added on Stereo File treats left and right the same. Is it possible to separate left and right treatment?
3. Will there be a Spectral Edit Context for Mouse Modifiers? That way we could use a modifier to separate left/right treatment or temporarily override groups for edits (see No. 1).
2. Spectral Edit added on Stereo File treats left and right the same. Is it possible to separate left and right treatment?
Yes you can. Right click over the controls for either channel and from context menu choose one channel - say Channel 1. The item will now be on that channel only. You can later put it back to both channels, or only the other channel, if you want to.
You can then add another spectral edit at exactly the same place if you wish and assign it only to the other channel.
You then have two separate items, one on each channel, each totally independent of the other.
Wow, these are some fantastic improvements. I'm looking forward to testing undo stuff.

Agreed

I may have spoken too soon as I just reproduced a case where adding Brainwork DynEQ2 V2 on an item FX chain where one plugin was blended to 50% produced the audible phasing until I stopped and restated playback, but it seems to happen less often now somehow.

+ Spectral editing: separate controls for fade in/out/low/high rather than just time/frequency
The problem here is that with the bottom of the range set to 0Hz, as I bring the top end down, one I get below 500Hz or so, the knob to adjust the low frequency fade disappears as you see in this video:
Sorry but I couldn't make a GIF small enough for the Stash for some reason.
Is this just because the spectral editing in REAPER doesn't have more detailed resolution in the low frequency range? Or is it a graphical bug?
Whatever can be done to provide really precise spectral editing even at low frequencies would be great. I often do really detailed work between 0Hz and 70Hz to address thumps and bumps in a stereo mix but without ruining anything else.
So far it doesn't seem like REAPER spectral editing can get that detailed at low frequencies.
I actually cannot find this file at all! It should be in reaper_www_root but it's not there!
Same here, more_me.html seems to be missing. In my portable install the main reaper_www_root folder has only the fancier.html. In the Plugins\reaper_www_root folder I have fancier, vector, lyrics, basic, index and click html files.
*tiny update* @post# 36.
Fresh install of reaper64bit.v >asio is reported as expected-using 64bit system here.
The time domain spiking is persistant,it appears to be related to other 'follower' settings alongside.
Spikes are mainly being caused just by loop point changes it seems so far.
Carry on.
Oh! btw - the installer says "do not discuss? " <>
Annnd no - i have not found the hidden thing yet- it's bloomin hidden isn't it!! what is it??!! lol.

I think either Justin or Schwa mentioned at some point that they would look at stuff like mutes later on once the core elements were done.
I think muting would be good but item takes would be probably more ideal for recording multiple takes if they worked like multiple takes do for items.
Probably a tough one to do though.

rofl- well i'm trying to not break rules and discuss----it's in the credit anim-kinda hidden to begin!
Am fully prepared to go through all the sampling rates and rea_sampling modes- which initself- is quite a task-- to gather some info for any report... but tbch-- i just want to rock n roll-not spend time looking for stuff that 'needs' to be found-=cba being a bug hunting minion for cockos >not my job =) but obviously i would like programme to function as well as can be!
Will post anything to be found here to break some rules.k.
Cheerz.
Going through sample rates and settings on playbacks.
¬Method¬ using 32b reaper instal,64b win,64b asio mtrack,44.1sr -working on 2 selected items realtime,start + stopping +returning to defaulting between settings.
¬Results¬ vid shows odd 'null' behaviour- was starting to go through the modes to check for nulls, when this was noticed> (sorry no audio, obs limit)
¬Conclusion¬ Shrugs and prays to the reaper representatives to reaspond. > probably will not look any further,as i now know it needs some tlc to continue tests.
I was watching the reaper blog on youtube (since I've not had time to be involved much in Automation items and didn't want to miss anything)
When I saw the amazing ability to timestretch multiple AIs at the same time but in a way we can't yet do with normal items. This was 2 items next to each other on the arrange with a gap and selecting both items and stretching the end of one of them took into consideration this gap and treated the items as if they were still one! really really useful!
Quite a lot of us have been wanting this type of relative timestretch for normal items for ages as it's one of the last things we can't yet do and it also would make grouped items act as if they are still one even if there are gaps between the grouped items.
I know we have a time selection based command for doing something similar but to have this a mouse modifier would be so powerful!
Please consider! thanks.

R.5.6pre 32> Shows some odd behaviours-1st noticed (the edges) with R5.4.
+Strange collapsing with the spectrals.
Checking from default settings.
Cheers.
Hey-um,a few small details to add.
|Method| Using r5.6pre 32,wave drivers, switching between the spectral view modes while checking visual updates.
|Results*|.Video shows a point of cursor being unable to decide wether to drag spectral edit box,or volume envelope.
2.Spectral edit seems to fail visually when compressor db level arrives at around -160db..
3.Also to note (i think this is an old existing thing) -when choosing certain audio/preferences there came a time when i could set more input and output channels than the playback interface actually offers=result was no playback. ☠
*Tiny update*
¬Method¬ Using R5.6p1 32,drag dropping of docker tabs, checking overall scalings.
¬Results¬ Vid shows some glitches with the scaling updates-tabs are taking weird priorities and if some tabs are docked even to 1 side of interface-these tabs can still be 'passed through' with mouse wheel scrollings..works with some docked tabs, and not others (>like< media explorer will not do that passing through.)
