Default Paulie200%

So, I put on my GIMP suit and scaled/tweaked up the images 200% and did some manual labour.
Many layouts is removed so I could finish this year.. since I am no WALTER champion atm.. just so I could get something useful out asap.
4K users can now use this in Aware mode and get the sharp peaks and Paulie will not be tiny.

Original creators ---> Lampshade & witti <---

Enjoy.

Edit/Update:

The knobs and the knob stacks for the lines that did not scale well remade those and, other small meh's tweaks

Look in the pre-release at this thread

Default_5.0_@2x Reaper Theme for HiDPI screens

That's all I know of.

Great effort! Sadly those nasty blocky 8-bitty fonts seem to be unavoidable at this stage....

For fun, I may have to see what this looks like on the 1980x1200 I have on my Mac.
Still don't see a large dpi monitor on the horizon for m yet, but between WT and all the others working on this, maybe it will become a reality soon. Just to recap, are ALL the high dpi-aware applications moving to vector base these days?

Thanks!/Tack!

Getting the theme to look like the original was the plan, only bigger wo da blur, only smile'ness here.

When WT did the HiDPI theme, I did not have a 4K either but I also went, must see must see now! on a 1080p.. enourmous'ness humongous on that.

Just that you have to chose bigger fonts on 4K and all the good side-effect of that is a good reason by itself, and just making a same sized (visually) circle in an image editor feels like cheating or something, just better, -, sharper,- stronger (Da Funk)

It's not like you would need a 1080ti/Vega for 4K DAW use, not sure if I would have upgraded if my vision was beyond help of glasses though.

I hope this is the year because it really is the year outside of REAPER and you don't have to add your wife/kids/house/dogs/cats (all but the RME ) on Ebay to get 4K either, 50% off, summer deal.

This is not the only theme that can be scaled with good results I can tell you. &
Justin have not said no or even close to hell no, for Vector.svg support thank gawd, it feels more like matter of time and how to best do it and the commit thing'ie if the what ever plan sound good and I have no clue how complicated or how much work something like this would be when it comes to programming, maby the scariest thing they would ever have done in 10 years? no clue..
I am not worried though for some reason, and i've never seen Justin wear glasses now when I think of it.

Btw, since you are in france alot, go to the top of the eiffel tower and thy shall see the horizon better/quicker.

Awesome! I've been waiting for people to start doing this with themes for ages now.

One small (or rather big) thing is that the media item labels are HUGE. It seems like they haven't been scaled back down (or they didn't need to be scaled up in the first place).

Also, how do you make track colours affect the whole of the tcp/mcp? I know it looks a bit smarter just having the coloured strip at the side, but everything else just looks a bit too grey to me.

Well, no one asked!

With 7zip installed, right mouse on the theme and extract here, you can move away the ReaperThemeZip for now.
Go to the Paulie folder and open rtconfig.
On top, make it:
version 4

tinttcp 958 ; tint panel=958 tint panel+label=959
peaksedges 1024 ; aliased wave forms=1024 anti-aliased wave forms=0
- - -
Menu on top, show action list, type: theme, select: Theme Development: Show theme tweak/configuration window, Run.
Look for media item label font, it should be calibri size 9, change to what ever you want and hit save theme.
You can make an action or something for that thing, you will need it.

I have set in preferences, media, to hide media labels when the lane is less than 222.

Just ask if my answer was to lazy.

You have to go with global_scale 2.0 on a mac in the rtconfig.

Thanks! But now the fonts are way too small (e.g. item names) and also out of place (e.g. the region names):

Hey fladd, I am on Windows and can't explain Mac-phenomena, maby you found a bug?
The personal taste is, you are the boss with the theme tweaker.

Edit'ness: Timeline font and media item label font.
