Thanks for that. I just did a quick test and it seems to work for me.

I've previously been converting the files using the utility at the link below.

also used midifilemapper...

but not needed for gm to addictive...

just run a midifile and put gm to addictive as a vst fx before the addictive drums y works without converting...

Do you know if there is a mapper similar to this that you can configure the mapping? I need something to convert GM to whatever notes I want on the fly.

you can do this with ix key maps.just copy the defualt mapping file to your desktop (or wherever you want to work on it) and change the numbers in the first column to the numbers in the second that you want to output to.rename it (to your conversion) & put it back in the ix key maps folder.you can then just insert ix keymaps vst before your drum vst & select your map from the drop down menu.it may be easiest to download some drum maps so you can copy the names into each column to see what your converting to/from.heres a "gm to" template (& a few others) for example, the numbers are left unchanged so you can use them as templates for converting files to other formats.i think it'd be great if people created their vsti map conversions and posted em on the forum to share, especially since toontrack discontinued EZ Player Free.this could finally end everyones constant drum map problems.i have only a few some i made, some downloaded (gm to ad,ad to gm,ez to ad &gm to dfh{not the ezx})but will post em here if anyone needs em.

still learning about reaper and I do not be able to use drum maps under reaper...I don´t know.

as I did, you can insert a new track as a template...

but drum maps or keymaps still a missing lesson for me.

if you have allready one midi track opened, how appli the drum map to the track?

On my computer there’s a txt file called ‘00 - Default Mapping’ under C:\Program Files\REAPER\Data\ix_keymaps

I’ve kept the original, but I’ve made copies in the same folder, which I call ‘01- Remap’ and ‘02 - Remap2’. They’re edited to remap things.

These now appear as options in the drop down list (see picture below).

If I wanted to use this with Addictive Drums (AD), I'd add the AD VSTi after the IX/Midi_Keymap VST.

Link is dead, does anyone have this file still. I would love to use it as I too need to put midi into Reaper and playback using Addictive Drummer.

AD now includes an option to set GM as the input, so a separate converter isn't needed.

It's on the 'Beats' window, and available as an option in the 'Map Preset' drop down list.
