Default Advantages of Upgrading to VLC3?

Now that REAPER supports VLC3, I'm interested to know what the advantages of upgrading from v2 would be, if any. I'm running REAPER 64 bit on Win10 with i7 7700K and do all my video editing in REAPER now.
VLC is also my primary video player.

Are there performance improvements?
Are there more options for export/render formats?
Are there other benefits?

I'm not sure if there are any, some people seem to see improved performance, others not. The big reason we added support for it was to please the people who wanted to be using the latest VLC. If you're happy with 2.2, I'd stay on 2.2...

Glad to hear that. My copy of VLC ain't broke, so I'm not fixing it!

The ONLY piece of software I trust enough to arbitrarily install every update that comes out is REAPER.

It's a big upgrade. How many of the features you will use/need is another question, but there's a lot there. Here's a link.

Cheers for that. Going to have a look and see if there's anything to compel me to upgrade.
