Default Importing .wav and assigning them to Take lanes

HI gurus,

Hoping this can be done (so I can leave Nuendo out of my workflow ). Also, posting this here as opposed to the general forums because I think this is more of an advanced scripting type feature (that has probably already been done, but I can't find it!).

So... I have a ton of recordings and overdubs done in Nuendo. When I import them into Reaper and move them to BWF origin, I get nice overlapped .wav files... as should be. However, I would now like to alphabetically assign them to lanes/takes.

I read that Reaper uses Take names and not file names for take assignments. I tried various x-raym scrips for renaming... but I can never get multiple lanes to show (and thus see underlying takes).

I've poked around but can't find info specific to my needs. Anyone able to point me in the right direction or provide a the secret decoder ring for being able to do this?

Do I maybe have a lane display feature turned off?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Andrew K

OK... I think I'm going to do a video on this and see if there is a solution. I'm getting close... But getting the Reaper Takes across 8 mics to stay synced when editing (whether in a folder or not... whether grouped or not) is not working here. It's like every take on each track needs to be grouped with it's counterpart take on the other tracks. Very tedious to do manually.

Anyway... I'm not going away THERE WILL BE A SOLUTION!

Video in the next few days... when I have time.

Cheers,

Andrew K

This X-Raym script does this (if I understood correctly)

Oh nice.
Thank X-Raym for his script if you get a chance.
(I also use it quite a bit but for simpler scenarios so I wasn't quite sure if it would work in your case too.)

I've already thanked X-raym on some of his other awesome scripts... but will chime in again to practice my French

Merci X-Raym pour ton super boulot!
