Default [5.95] Cannot mouse wheel Automation Envelope Knob in TCP

Original thread:
BUG? Cannot use mouse wheel for automation track knob in TCP

Current Behavior
When tracks exceed vertical boundaries of the TCP, attempting to modify the automation envelope track knob, via mouse wheel, scrolls the TCP vertically instead of adjusting the knob value. This is regardless of the Track Envelope/Automation Automation Mode setting (tried Trim/Read, Touch, and Latch). The mousewheel faders options in Preferences > Editing Behavior > Mouse don't fix this behavior either.

Expected Behavior
Mouse wheel over Automation Envelope Track Knob in the TCP should modify the envelope value regardless of total number of tracks.

Confirmed using:
REAPER Version 5.95/x64 rev bf390d (Sep 10 2018)
Windows 10 Pro 64 bit version 1709 build 16299.125
CPU: Intel i7-5600U @2.6GHz
Audio Interface: MOTU Audio Express

Confirmed using:
Win7 / v5.95 / x64

Thanks!

Holding shift works FYI.

Maybe they should make it so you always have to hold Shift, because if you happen to scroll tracks and hit the bottom/top limits and mouse is over those knobs you could change the values and might not even realize it!

Not a bad idea, I don't scroll tracks with the mouse very often because it is so easy for it to cause a fader to change.

I thought if I enabled "Ignore mousewheel on track panel faders" then that would solve the issue I showed, but then Shift+Mousewheel no longer works either.

Those reasons are why I only scroll the TCP with my mouse over the right side by the track number, in the space right of the Solo Button. So, it doesn't inadvertently modify any parameters.

Isn't Shift+Scroll the modifier for fine adjustment?
I wouldn't want this to be the default behavior, personally.

Me too but then I have to "aim" which takes away the benefit for me. I should be clear that I don't really use that any longer since I built my three big knob midi controller back in the winter. Now I have a big knob for scrolling (H or V), one for zooming (H or V), and the third is for whatever random automation CC I need at the time.

I couldn't remember if you saw when I was posting/bugging everyone about it... Code is on GitHub FYI.
