Default license problem

Early this summer my computer (win 10) went down. Luckily I had
a clone but it was funky and didnt feel right... so i went with total reformat of new drive and new os disc so much better second drive seemed good but waited to register Reaper until today.

When trying to use my .RK file (from 2011 purchase email) to register my version of reaper to this new system.
I get a failure prompt saying my license is too old and to go to www.reaper.fm for upgrade... so i go there and after filling out an email and explaining problem, i try to send and I get a prompt saying
licensing@cockos. not valid email address.

So is there anybody here that can explain ny license beig too old?

A Reaper licence is valid through 2 major release cycles.

If you bought it in the first part of 2011 it will be valid for Reaper version 3.xx and 4.xx. We are now on v5.95. So it would not be valid for the current major version.

If you bought it later than that it should be ok. But the email address you tried is not valid; it needs a .com

Default Didn't see the fine print

So if that's the case I'll have to renew.
Was under the impression license never ran out.
Btw that IS the email address that comes up on the error prompt
Not all web pages or emails have to be a .com.

Thanks for clearing up my serial number bewilderment

Your licence is STILL valid for version 4.xx … you can download and install that version, and you will be legally licenced.

However, maybe not such a bad thing to get the latest version (and the 2 release cycle too) with the extra goodies and improvements.
