Default SoundGrid feature for Reaper? (add network rendering & vst processing)

Is something like Waves SoundGrid ( http://www.waves.com/objects/pdf/pre...id-jan2010.pdf ) the next killer feature for Reaper?

Why? Reamote works perfectly well and is not limited to Waves plugins.

Waves is one of those companies that just reek of despair to stay in business. They don't really invent much new DSP algorithm wise but try to sell the same stuff (some dating back to early 1990's) over and over again, packaged a bit differently.

REAPER has audio and MIDI over Ethernet via ReaStream. They already implemented this killer feature long ago, among many others:

ReaMote Network FX Processing Also Included Too As Well Also
  • Use spare machines on your local network as a real-time FX farm.
  • Minimal latency on wired networks, you can even run virtual instruments remotely and monitor locally.
  • Run entire FX chains remotely to reduce bandwidth.
  • Run multiple slave machines transparently from a single host.
  • Get the most out of your old hardware, even a tired old laptop can host a single reverb.
ReaStream
  • Supports streaming from host to host of audio and/or MIDI over a LAN segment
  • Supports streaming from different host software on each end
  • Supports UDP broadcast for streaming one to many (if local network can keep up)
It even works via wireless.
