Thanks! Fixed this in libSwell -- if you want to have the fix you'll need to pull WDL and build libSwell.so (or wait for 5.94pre1)

2nd more serious:
1. Add PreSonus FaderPort Control surface (and configure MIDI ports)
2. press any transport button in Reaper
3. the corresponding button lights up on the FaderPort device
4. press any transport button in FaderPort device
5. nothing happens
6. retry (4) again and again
7. after xxx attempts corresponding action actuate in Reaper
8. move volume fader in Reaper
9. fader in FaderPort moves accordingly and smoothly
10. move fader in FaderPort
11. fader in Reaper moves by leaps
Fixing for 5.94pre1, thanks!

Did you post on the wrong website/forum? I used to use manjaro a couple of years ago and GUFW was broken even then. Run it from a terminal and post the output on the manjaro forum

Are you talking about firewalls?

Actually nope, I did post this here on purpose, I admit it and I saw the whole thing, SmajjL is the criminal!! here he is, grab him!!

Went by the general discussion and I live here, sort of and I am shy to go other places: :P

I am pretty new with Manjaro/Arch and GUFW have worked on other distros and none of them was Arch based, I think.
Thank you for your hint, I shall pick another flavour then, yes sir!

Yep, Manjaro seems to have none at all pre-installed, but don't quote me.
I would need something very user friendly.

That might not be necessary. Run gufw from a terminal and it might tell you what the problem is.

However, from my experience manjaro has a number of issues like this but it's hard to say if this is one of them with such a vague report.

UFW will be installed but I believe it's not enabled by default. That is actually very easy to use and means that GUFW isn't really needed.

Right, so through a terminal I get a lots of:
(gufw.py:1210): Gdk-CRITICAL **: 18:05:34.764: gdk_keymap_get_for_display: assertion 'GDK_IS_DISPLAY (display)' failed
and keymap/replace stuff blabla's (the short version.

I get what you are saying though, I am just a tad un-comphy with that stuff at this early stage and, I don't have a hard time switching to something else for the time beeing since I have barely used Manjaro and I would like to keep my momentum in getting something Linux installed and try REAPER see where we are at.

Fair enough. If you're doing music then I would advise ubuntu or debian based distros so you can use the kxstudio repo. KDE Neon is a nice minimal(ish) base to start with.

You could also have a look at avlinux, that's a very complete set up.

Yep, I think, KDE is my attraction of preference also and I have been using Kubuntu abit, remember some issues though with-in the Software manager and I guess flatpak and what evs' was New then, maby sorted out now.
And besides looks some flavours go for more effective'ness and lots of more options tweaks, have that stuff to learn also, what is what, why this/that.
Anyway, I shall try Neon shosty and, thank you!

^^ This. I never had a need for a graphical UI for UFW, because the U stands for ... "uncomplicated"

Besides, what's the use for a firewall if you're not running any services?

I have actually not even a clue of confirmed'ness over here if even the console version or if the service even works and that is just abit un-romantic for my sensitive little heart atm "should I just go Tarzan-mode? I am not mentally ready and I am going to try Neon now anyway and if it works it works.

PS, wow one get rusty fast, I have to go cc-mode for Linus/x to find it? no kidding SchmajjL…*Slap!!*

Got my GUFW though.

*update*

Right, so I went hmm & curious, wonder if any other edition of Manjaro have problems with GUFW?
Well, the community ED Cinnamon does not, have this problem.

Edit:

Tried the Manjaro KDE Edition (18.0-beta-5) and now it works but, I did install it through Octopi and this time.. I said yes to see the install through the terminal, if that would matter, just saying.
*Wiiie!*

I could run Reaper via Wine and/or PlayOnLinux, but not everything worked as it should.
Also, my favourite VST's: Synth1 (ran with bugs) and Vandal amp (didn't even open) were lost because of that.

Hopefully someday Reaper makes a Linux native version ...
Looking forward to the future!

After dwelling around, using different softwares... had issues with lots of stuff... back with Reaper.
Tried the latest stable version that is downloadable from the main site.
Works perfect!
Finally, my whole setup is working again ^^ > In Linux, that is !

However, not using Synth1 anymore, but U-HE's Hive, works linux native too. And switched the Vandal VST with Line6 Pocket Pod.

Thanks all !
