Default Yamaha 01V96 Action Mapping - jumpy track automation

Hello there,

1st post,
Liking Reaper so far,

I know there have been other posts on Yamaha 01V96 and Reaper compatibility... I know they are compatible but I am running into a glitch...

Could you help me with this problem? I made a video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6ThCBFWdTU

I am using Reaper on a Mac Book Pro 2013. I am running a Yamaha 01V96 as a surface controller and I FINALLY have been able to get Reaper to read it after installing all possible driver options from Yamaha.com. Took me so long - guhhhhhhh

I attempted to action map it, and it works! Sort of... It is super jumpy as you can see in the vid.
I already tried 'Absolute, Soft Take Over and Variation 1, 2, and 3' settings.

The Korg NanoKontrol 2 is so much smoother... but I want to use the big assignable 16 track fader
I have a feeling I have tried all I can, so the post is last resort

Also, there is no .reabank file for a 2003 01V96 (I'm not using the 2011 01V96i). I would love for it to just... work. Any alternatives? Never used .reabank files yet... does a HUI .reabank work? there seem to be like 20. my head hurts lol

The last few posts I have read regarding this mixer have been 5-8 years ago... so maybe someone knows something I don't?

Thanks,
LG

Hi, sorry you haven't had a reply.

My interface has just blown up and I remebered I have this old 01v96 v2 lying around so I thought I'd try using it.

Like you I haven't had any joy initially so, having seen your question, I thought you may be kind enough to let me into your secret.

Kind regards,

Mike

Hi,

If the yammy can do MCU vs hui, your choices are greater.

Its not a reabank your looking for, its a ..".csurf"... a made for reaper extention that allows 2 way communication between your device..the yammy ..and reaper.

I checked and your board can be set not only to hui mode but also Mackie mode.
Check out the CSI project in the midi section for info on a Mac .csurf.

Guido

Edit..don't have to read the multitude of pages...just go to the end and ask a question about your board. I'm sure someone has already made the required stuff to make it work in Mackie mode.
