Default Please help

Hi,
i am complete novice when it comes to the world of multi-track audio.

I have a couple of questions about setting up a multi-track play back mode.

i am using a RME card and a sony Vario laptop.

how do i get the seporate tracks to play? at the moment there is also a gitter when playing back the tracks? is this a buffering issue?

is it usual when playing back tracks on a madi system that the 'gains' on the desk are by-passed?

any help would be really welcome

Chris.

Hi Chris, you'll need to give us a lot more information.
Which operating system are you running? Which RME card? Which audio driver? The desk you refer to, do you mean Reaper's mixer, or an external one? If it's the latter, are you wanting to use it as a control surface?
Generally, audio glitches are down to the audio driver either not being set up correctly, or the wrong one being used.
I have a feeling that you are trying to route multiple tracks out to an external desk and mix from there, but that's just guessing.
Steve
