Default NewTek NDI support (Audio) for live video production

https://www.newtek.com/ndi/
https://www.newtek.com/ndi/tools/

Its a royalty free protocol that sends/receives streams over network. Its getting a lot of gain in live video production and I have also used it a lot for live video production. It would be cool if Reaper could support it via plugin or by send (NDI out 1,2.3) or input. It would allow sharing individual tracks, groups, mixes across the network, use another computer as sound source and many network related creative ideas.

+1 for the video output too. it can be used with Resolume

but while we're talking about NDI, i've been trying to download the free NDI tools but haven't been able to. on the download page, clicking "download" for windows pops up a box with what looks like it should be a link, but no download starts and the link can't be clicked on.

anyone have a direct link to the zip or installer?

i've whitelisted newtek.com on my pihole and i've disabled all other adblockers but still no luck for 1+ week

Hi,

Big +1 on this.

NDI is getting more and more common, Skype just announced they will include it in their software to help podcadster record and mix remote interviews.

A "NDI - ASIO virtual soundcard" would solve this, but it would be even more user friendly to be able to select a NDI source as audio input and output audio buses as NDI. This would allow multiple Reapers on multiple computers to share audio with minimal latencies (buffer can be down to samples) without harware, and conect with lots of existing cool softwares.

Could it be created as a plugin ?

It worked once I disabled my adblocker. It's a confusing site, though. It doesn't show the hand cursor for links fi and it has heavy tracking. Most software seems Windows only, but the basic free tools are available for Mac too. They have more than a dozen applications and it's not very clear what every app does, exactly. Not really inspiring confidence...

The simplest way to make NDI work would be the ability to separate the input and output audio driver. Then you could select an ASIO driver for your input channels and local system audio for your output. Then you can use the free vMix Desktop Capture program to send your system audio out on NDI.

Just that ability would make it possible. But, an integrated NDI output would be really awesome too!!

Do you think creating a NDI VST receiver/sender would be a good option ? How could I do that ?
