Default Reason 11 Redrum get pattern to track

Hi there

I want to use Redrum as VST Plugin. So far so good, it is working, but how can I get my programmed bead from Redrum to the item lane as Midi? When i run Reson standalone, its possible to "copy pattern to track", but in vst mode this funcion is not available.
Somebody knows the trick?

Thanks in advance

I got as far as starting to type a response about dead horses not working in DAWs and decided that was too crass, even for me. On topic? Hm... have you found out what the internal file format for Redrum is? You might well be able to do a cut n paste from the standalone into reaper as a media item IF they are able to be compatible. Worth a try... EDIT Just had a quick look and apparently you CAN get MIDI output from Redrum.

Hi Ivansc
Thanks for replaying to a dead horse

How can I get the Midi output from Redrum? Do I have to run it in standalone Reason and import it again in Reaper when its running as Plugin?

Thanks

Not sure if rewire still works for reaper/reason but that would be one easy way to integrate it. I fit was me doing it I would just route the MIDI out from Reason into reaper`s MIDI in. Harware or software ways of oding this. If you need more help give me a shout. I havent used reason in decades, but should be able to figure it out for you

Rewire is not working anymore since Reason is available as plugin.
But the subject has been settled while Reason has been updated today with the new feature Midi out

Now its possible withoud any workaround.

Best regards

Aha! At least they have taken care of their existing customers, too!
Glad you got this sorted out easily.

I'm having this problem as well. I can't find a way to get the MIDI notes into Reaper for editing. You seem to have solved the problem but I don't know how. Can you help?

Can you record the MIDI output of the track that Reason's on?

Hello- if you look at redrum and click on the device, there should be a little icon on bottom left corner-- this is a drag/drop to track feature.
Midi out is also an option now as standalone reason never used to 'midi out' anything- that has changed.
Not all the devices support the drag/drop feature though. Hope this helps.

Hi!

I was struggling about that and after read your comment I just notice this icon.

So, the thing is, when you press it, it will create a MIDI track of whatever is on your current pattern in Redrum.

Thank you for your comment!
