Shane am I being thick, even after downloading 3.41 I still can't get Reaper to do half the stuff you are showing in the videos.
Is this because it's the Reaper Tools additions that most of us are yet to get our hands on?

It's more like Preference and Option settings that need to be done. What specifically were you looking to duplicate that you saw me doing?
Shane
**I noticed you changed your avatar again. It's too relaxed now. Doesn't quite have the punch anymore.

I predict this'll be out on December 25th this year :P
This is so awesome it gives me chills. Funny when finally it's out, I will be using (most likely) a Digidesign piece of hardware.
Man, I'm still drooling. This is so awesome, as awesome as winning the lottery. Can't wait.
P.S. Is there a place where I can get the Reaper logo as png (with transparency) so I can edit it and put it in my Reaper's theme? And the font as well? :P

Font is similar to Georgia (installed on all comps) except for the R
curve at the bottom.

Hey Shane, that Myna Editor looks VERY good (you mentioned it at the DUC). The transport thingy at the top (like in cubase for making bigger-smaller the edit area or dragging that square-rectangle to go to another area of the project) and the automation-envelope thing looks very good (how in the video you add 1 or 2 points then drag and a curve is made for you). The browser for loops (and samples I guess). That all looks great.
I might switch from Reaper to that one... J/K. But the first 2 things I mentioned look more solid that Reaper's (the Reaper's loop-sampler browser is already very good for me).
P.S. Wow, for a Flash and online app, this Myna thingy is not that bad! Of course I coulnd't use it, coz I record and use vst plugins, etc.

The cursors are done but the feature to use themeable cursors in OSX isn't implemented in the public release yet. The good news, is that it's been implemented in the newest beta 3.4.1pre9 build.

At the moment, I'm pretty much full time on the current REAPER beta as there are new editing features that PT users will definitely be experiencing tears of joy over, and feel quite at home with. I'm making damn sure this one new editing feature not only matches PT, but also utterly destroys it, by bringing it to a whole new level.
So far, so good, as we have developers that listen, understand, and deliver.

Add 10 years after they ever start delivering. Then I might be convinced they've changed.

Well you got the 'hype' part of it right Danni.
At present I get a call a week (remember I'm in London) or an email from another person at AVID at DC HQ telling me they want to work with me.
I think for them it's better the devil you know.
So far nothing has come from any of the promises. THAT'S A BIG ZERO!
Shane and I are both a little jaded by it all and just want to do what we can for DUC refugees, if kids look like their parents I think the DUC is becoming a reflection of AVID, lots of talk but not much else.

Hey all
Shane - Thanks for the invite! Boy this place sure looks nice!
Russ - Your avatar is f*cking AWESOME!
And to all the other DUC refugees - It's great to see you all here!
Im not the Hobo that alot of you here are but i have been using Pro Tools for 5 years and am now deciding to learn REAPER. So far I'm LOVING what I see.
Last night I began experimenting with themes (awesome feature) and discovered undocking the mixer! Was super stoaked with that little gem, makes me feel far more at home.
I know I've told you before Shane, but what you're doing here is a HUGE step for all us Pro Toolers. REAPER is clearly an amazing program and one that I can't wait to fully get into. Easing that learning curve and being able to jump between programs without worrying about different key commands etc. will be a massive bridge for all those looking to get off the AVID ship. I can't wait till you're finished!
So once again, thank you all, it's great to be here!
Jo

The polar opposite of this fine place. I'm actually finding the transition to Reaper FAR easier than I thought even with just modding a few of my most used ProTools keyboard shortcuts.
