Default M-Audio Delta 44?

Anyone using it? Seems like a low end solution for input, but I've got a co-worker that's selling one for $75. My PC is an NVIDIA chipset 790 Ultra that has on board sound so I'm thinking an add on card will be a must. Any suggestions? Planning to use it with Guitar Rack 3 and Windows 7.

Works fine and sounds good, easy install. The price you got is good too, imo.

I have had mine for years. M-Audio have continuously updated the drivers. I have tried a few other soundcards. I have to say I think the Delta44/66 are one of the most reliable sound cards on the planet. You can also now run ProTools M-Powered on them, so their resale value is good and it's useful for converting ProTools projects to Reaper.

Buy it.

Hehehe.....we must have purchased our Delta's around the same time. I've had my Delta 66 since 2000 and it has been trouble free ever since. I got it as part of the Delta 66/Omni I/O bundle. I am using it in my 3rd BYO DAW since then and when I build my next DAW in a year or two it will be there as well. As long as M-Audio keeps releasing drivers updates I may never have to purchase another audio card. I am using the 5.10.0.5069 drivers (one of the latest and most versatile yet), which is even working in Win7 RC1! Probably the best audio hardware investment I've ever made. One thing to be aware of, as a PCI card it does not like to share IRQ's with other devices (especially USB host controllers & video cards) and may exhibit the snap, crackle pop syndrome during playback of audio when it's IRQ is shared. Just something to be aware of.
Otherwise, it is pretty much plug & play. The ASIO drivers work best in REAPER for stability & low latency (down to 64 samples).

Cheers,

Billy Buck

another big +1 for the 44/66 series.
i have 2 66s stacked and they ALWAYS please me mightily.
the only complaint i have is that you can't set one's clock to 44100 and the other's clock to 48000, you have to select one for both. no big deal.
