Plug-in question
I know I'm being a royal pain in the behind here but I have another question .
I'm trying to follow this video's recommendations and have the correct plug-ins installed . Problem is as soon as I enable them I have no sound ?
Turn them off and I have dry sound . ( I have level at the interface and on the screen either way .
What am I missing here ?

IDK for sure. You definitely need record monitoring enabled, but I'm not familiar with your theme really, so can't tell if you've got that happening.
Lemme ask you a question, though. If this was actual hardware, would you be plugging the pedal between the amp and the speaker? I would expect that to let the smoke out of one or both.

Oh no ^^ I just put them up in any old fashion for those screen shots .
Yes the record monitoring is enabled on that channel .
Like I said , I have dry sound and level until I add a plug-in .
Then I still have level but the sound cuts out .

Hey Digger, I'm pretty useless when it comes to this technical stuff but I notice that your inputs are input1 + input2, I have no idea if it makes any difference but my guitar inputs are usually just mono (Input1). Maybe just stick to 1 input. Worth a try???
Cheers

As said...you don't really want inputs set to 1+2 as you're not recording a stereo signal (in fact not possible with your interface) Switch the input to ch 1 only.
Make sure direct monitor switch on your interface is off. Record enable on for the track and input monitoring also on.

You have to put them in the correct order or it's not going to work. Then enable the things one at a time from the top and see when you get sound and when it stops. My guess is that the TS and Amp will be fine but when you switch the cab sim on everything stops. Yes?
I can't get that particular cab sim to do anything either. There may be some trick to it, I've never tried it before. But others, even Mercuriall Cab 2.1, work fine with no fuss.

For free ones try PULSE IR, or the one that LePou have on their site (can't remember the name). I believe that PULSE IR is kinder to the CPU, but that's just internet hearsay.

Check if the path to the impulse response files is set correctly to the 'Mercuriall Cab v3.0 Library' folder via the (Select folder) button in the Additional window. Or try if selecting this folder again makes any difference.
See pages 4 - 6 in the manual for more info: http://mercuriall.com/freestuff/Merc...r%20Manual.pdf

That's interesting ^^^
I was wondering why a special dialogue box was popping up when I tried adding that .
I was just clicking "ok" to whatever folder was highlited.
So when that pops up I should select the folder I have all my plug ins ..in ?

As indicated in steps 2 and 3 on page 4 in the manual I linked in post #13:
1) Download the Mercuriall Cab v3.0 Library.zip file. This can be done via click on the green [EIR Library] button in the Mercuriall Cab 3.0 section: https://mercuriall.com/cms/details_freestuff
2) Extract/Unzip this zip file to get the folder called Mercuriall Cab v3.0 Library - you can basically move this folder to any location you like
3) Then inside the Mercurial Cab plugin click on the (Select Folder) button and select this Mercuriall Cab v3.0 Library folder

Yeah that's it. If you don't select the correct directory it still looks fine and allows you to select the different mics and positions etc. It just doesn't make any noise.
It would be nice if it told you what the problem was...but for the price I guess you can only expect so much .

Very strange.
Just to clarify: you extracted the 'Mercuriall Cab v3.0 Library' folder (which was inside the download .zip archive file) and then pointed the plugin to the extracted folder (and not to the download .zip-file), right?
Also try doing a [Clear cache/re-scan] of the plugins via Preferences > Plug-Ins > VST, just in case.

In the (Select Folder) window, you'll need to set it to the 'Mercuriall Cab v3.0 Library' folder directly.

In general, clicking on (Select Folder) should open a 'Browse to Folder' Window where you can manually navigate to the 'Mercuriall Cab v3.0 Library' folder location in order to select it.
Otherwise maybe you can post a screenshot of this window and which choices you got.

Sorry folks .
I never got a chance to mess with that part this evening ( went home sick early from work )
I'll get after it first thing tomorrow .
Meantime : I'm trying to record a clean guitar as track 4 to be placed in the background but every time i go to play it back it's slightly off measure ???
It's being recorded right along with tracks 1,2 & 3 but when I play it back it's slightly out of time .
Any suggestions ?
