Default How can I improve on drums in this circumstance?

Hey, All:

I have mentioned many times I am singing to pre-recorded music.
I am able to get each instrument, but, unfortunately, the drums comes as what is called a 'drum kit', meaning that it is not divided up by individual part of the drums and is all on one track.

I uploaded one of these to my Dropbox account. Here it is:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/iz0v6k4yyf...DRUMS.mp3?dl=0

In the past I played around with my MEqualizer. It looks like this:
As you can see, MEqualizer shows where each part of the drums would sit on the EQ.

I am just wondering if there is any hope of finding a way to improve on the sound of this drum kit using stock plugins in order to draw out the details of each instrument?

MT Drum Kit will let you place each drum, cymbal, etc. on it's own separate midi track. I'm sure others will as well.

I use MT, but mostly just for timing. It's OK for what I do, but I'm pretty sure there are other plugins out there that do the same thing but maybe sound a bit better.

If the karaoke songs you download also have an option to download MIDI files, you might want to do this, as it will allow you to do as the previous poster suggests and edit your drums individually. This will open a whole new rabbit-hole for you to explore, if you want to.

I just emailed my music supplier and asked if it is possible to get the drums as separate parts vs. the drum kit.

Unfortunately, the tracks I get from them are in MP3 format and I think I can also get them in WAV so I asked about that too!

I will remain hopeful that I get some good answers....

My apologies sjs, I misunderstood that the drum tracks you're referring to are prerecorded. MT Drum Kit and other drum kit plugins are of no use for what you're trying to do. My bad.

Good Luck.

Yes, I did mean the music is pre-recorded.

If you go back to my first post you will see a link to be able (if you wanted to) download the drum track I get from one of my songs so you can see what I am talking about.

It is my supplier who I get my music from that calls this drum track a 'Drum Kit'......
