This is great! They sound very nice. What's the RS5k timeframe? That's such a good idea to get templates for that going. I can do it, but it is time-consuming.

Cool, has already served many uses can't wait for the multi velocity one. Great job on the samples and thanks for sharing.

The drums worked great in

I went through the samples. Its a labour of love for sure !

There are a huge number of non-velocity hits for many drums.
The cymbals are velocity based though.

Anyways I did a little something for those who cant wait.

Thanks Sule, it worked great.

Just so that you'll know, the regular Ride and the Ride Bell are on the same note, I just moved the Bell ahead a 1/2 step.

The samples sound good SMM.

Added a midi velocity randomizer in the midi chain ....

Thanks suleiman,

This was fun to check out.... Nice !!
I enjoyed what you did for the test here.

Side note:
Every sample in my collection is recorded raw and unprocessed.
I approached this project as if someone miked up the entire
drum kit and was starting from scratch (raw/unprocessed).

About velocity and/or non-velocty hits:

I did include a small amount of velocity hits for crash cymbals due
to the fact that we need those for texture/expressive purposes
under every circumstance (Even when dynamics is not a priority, but,
randomization is).

This non-velocity package is aimed at creating drum beats
that do not require a large dynamic range, but do require
lots of randomization to keep things fresh.

You are welcome.

Here is a photo that shows the 1965 snare drum's color more accurately.

Default Synthedit Ludwig.

hello SMM

I was very interested in your drum kit and I made a small plugin in Synthedit.
This plugin allows you to select the root note for each instrument and also includes a mixer.
For the operation of this plugin (not yet finished) it is necessary that the samples are in 44100/16 and I need your agreement to provide your modified this plugin samples.

Regards!

That looks quite interesting.

Are these single samples or a round robin between the many non velocity samples ?

Project16,

Yes, you have my permission to use (and modify) the drums and cymbals
audio samples (and photographs) to use in any commercial and private production.

Both the audio samples and photos are offered as a nonexclusive, royalty free license.
No payment is required to use these samples in any production.
(That also includes any drum programs that you create and get paid for).

Yes, You may render these 24 bit samples down to 16 bit for use in your project.
Your project looks very nice.

I'm happy to offer these samples free.
I'm glad that you enjoy these samples and are using them in your project.

Thank you for all!
The samples in this kit are excellent. When my plugin is finished I will come here and the credits will be mentioned.
I think also propose a .sfz file for this kit.

I also work on my final version of Rickenbacker 4001 (some audio demos)

You know what I'd really like to see (hear)? An assortment of cymbal swells. I've figured out a way to do them so that they don't sound bad in context but still, it's not the same.

Thanks for the work you have put into these projects, SMM, Tod and Suleiman. This is a great sounding kit, and this is coming from someone with Steven Slate Drums IV and its expansions, all the NI Abbey Road Drummer kits, as well as several large third party sample packages like NS_Kit_7.

Very cool of you guy to make this available.

Nice kit.

I had to make a couple of changes to the .RPP to get it to work with my Roland TD-3.

I added the following note translations using the stock plugin JS: IX/MIDI_KeyMap. This is because the Toms were not being triggered properly:

50 (41) F
48 (45) A
47 (48) C

In that plug, I had to listen on MIDI channel 10, since that's what the TD-3 transmits by default. I put that plug above the others in that track (MIDI chokes), which is the third track in the project (the MIDI processing track).

The .txt file, which is a modified "00 - Default.txt" file, is attached.

On my Windows 7 machine, I had to put the file in the following directory:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\REAPER\Data\ix _keymaps\

Hope that helps any others who may need info on this.

I love how you can just barely touch the snare, and it triggers a sound.

Thanks, so nice to have a high quality 'open source' option.

Nice work !
