Default How to map a VSTi control to a USB keyboard octave ...

I'm trying to control some things like Pitch and Filters in samplers and softsynths ... by a method where I'll be guaranteed to hit the correct values "live" (as opposed to recording automation).

I seem to remember in Ableton that I could map a chosen range on a "rotary" control of a VSTi to keys on my USB keyboard.

Is there a way of doing this in Reaper?

Or any way of accurately jumping between pre-set values using a USB keyboard/controller?
Like mapping a chosen value on a VSTis rotary control to, say, a drum pad on a USB keyboard?
(I have a Novation Impulse 49)

Muchas gracias de antemano mis amigos.

I actually don't understand what exactly you are up to.

Do you want to use pressing a certain key to setting a certain parameter value ?

This of course is easy by a JSFX plugin. you might either fond one that does it or write the some 10 lines of code.

One of the things I'm "up to" ... is "playing" Filters and Pitch Controls etc on VSTis.

Playing them musically using my USB keyboard/controller - but with accuracy.

In other words, not turning knobs or moving sliders ... where you're getting approximate values.

So at a minimum I'd like to do as you guessed ... map a key (or pad on my controller) to a fixed value.

Even better would be to map an octave of my USB keyboard's keys to a range of values.

That would enable me to "play" ... for example ... a Pitch/Tuning control of a VSTi.

I appreciate your suggestion - but there's no chance of me learning any coding whatsoever, unfortunately.

I've been down way too many rabbit holes previously ... so I'm asking for any possible solution that already exists. Maybe the name of an actual JS MIDI plugin could help.

fwiw - one of the things I'm trying to do is to map one of TAL Sampler's TUNING knobs - it works in semi-tone increments.

I'd like to be able to accurately jump between the semi-tone settings.
