Default Drum MIDI mapping

I have Wavesfactory Legacy Drums, but the mapping files are all nka. Does anyone have these in txt or an easy way to convert?

Sounds like this is in Kontakt kirk, if so, which "data" folder is the nka file in?

There is usually a "Data" folder in the main folder and then a "data" folder in the "Resources" folder.

I had to dig through the folder, but I believe I found them in Resources. Is this the wrong place?

It's probably the right place, I have used the other Data folder but I can't remember what for. However I use the data folder in Resources all the time, mostly for presets, but it would probably also be good for storing midi files.

Ok, then why am I not seeing names on the piano roll?

I'm not sure what you mean by "names on the piano roll" Kirk, do you mean "piano keys"?

If they have midi patterns, they will have a special place on the GUI where you can audition them and then drag then into Reaper.

I took a look at "Wavesfactory Legacy Drums" and I didn't see any mention of midi patterns, is your version supposed have them?

No, I'm actually referring to Reaper's MIDI Editor piano roll. This illustrates what I'm asking about.

Oh, okay got it now. It's very easy to do that yourself with a plain Text file. I've got them for all my drums and all instruments that use "KeySwitches". I usually use a spreadsheet to make them but you can make them right in the midi editor. Just double right click on a key and type in the name you want to use.

You can load and save the note names in the midi editor by using "File/Note/CC names".

They look like this, the numbers are the key numbers. for example, 36 is a C1.

Code:
64 Ride20Bel
63 Ride20
62 Ride17Bel
61 Ride17
60
59
58
57 Crash17

I could do that, but I was hoping someone already did it.

There are midi mapping rules but I think very few developers follow them.

With the large drum programs put out now days it would be hard to follow the rules.

However, if the drums are programed for edrums, then they might follow some kind of mapping rules.

Once you do a couple it get's pretty easy.
