Hi Mark,
I'm still a fan of your theme
I installed it this morning with V4...
Can you help me to change two things (just for my habits):

1. How can I get back the volume sliders in the TCP's?
2. How can I change the colors of the VU meters in the TCP and MCP?

You'd have to learn WALTER to get sliders back.

For the VU's, you could find the associated PNG in the theme folder and erase the colored part, making the bars transparent. Then you could adjust the colors in the normal theme editing dialog.

Edit: there may be an easier way, work has been busy and I haven't themed in a couple of months, so I'm rusty.

Thank You

Don't you think, that the tcp vol. sliders would destroy your whole concept?

This theme is just too crazy. So crazy, in fact, you gotta love it
Thanks

I think I just spit soda all over my keyboard laughing.

If you post that over on the other audio boards where the 'other sequencer' people browse, Reaper will get a huge influx of new users.

Well done...

When I look at this theme, I feel slightly demented* --- is this the effect you were seeking?

*In a good way.

Update 08/13/2012: Refreshed the MCP colors.

Remember: master on left, don't float the transport, use text icons.

Thanks, this theme is very usable - and I used it a lot. The only issue is the high contrast in the MIDI editor's sharps and naturals. It's not easy on the eyes. Same thing for the grid lines of the ME: they're very bright.

I tweaked it just now. Download it again and see if it's better.

Eye killer like other terrible unharmonious colored theme.

Yes, it is the real reason Geordi Laforge was blind.

It's better. But what about this color approach?

That seems to work, hadn't thought about it. You already have it figured out, it looks cool. I think the next thing I might do for myself regarding MIDI would be a more LCARS-consistent note color-map.

LOL

It's around 20 years I saw TNG last time and yet I can still remember their computer screens. It was so original and futuristic that time, even today. Yeah, it's hell for eyes, but who cares?! It's just unbelievable cool.

This is really amazing! I don't know if it's really useable but I love the concept and how it looks!

Only problem: I don't see any play cursor, is that normal?

Default play cursor

yeah if I could get a play cursor gong this might have to be my new default.
OK I just fixed mine. I just changed the color and opacity style to normal and also the thickness to 1.0.

Sorry about the lack of replies. I haven't been able to theme in quite a while. It's possible that in the interim, as Reaper has progressed, some of the elements are behind the times.

At my old job, I'd have slow periods where I could burn excess mental energy by doing themes (I was a CAD guy in the civil/survey industry). But 6 months ago, I got brutally fired after standing up to a vindictive performance review.

Fortunately I got a job the next day at a pipeline survey company, observed some painful things in their data management, and proposed to solve them with Python. I haven't done a lick of CAD for six months. Through Django and Bootstrap I took my solutions to the web and we are in talks to classify me as a developer, and I'm trying to get a deal to work remotely.

That's a long way of saying all my excess mental energy that I used for themes has gone into code. However, if I can work remotely, maybe I can keep GIMP and Reaper open on the desktop and once again produce some more weirdness here.

Your contributions to Reaper themeing has always been distinctive. I would love to see something new from you. And the old is in my theme folder, always being brought up for different mixing or composing moods.

I had a few minutes to mess around with the screen shot. Later in the various Trek series and movies, you will see some different color palettes. Hmmmmm.

I have to say that whilst this theme does not appeal to me personally. Well done on creating something which is distinctly different and shows some significant variation from most of the existing themes in the stash.
