Digi 002 Issue
My main rig is an HP Elitebook 8560p notebook w/ Siig TI firewire card and a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 interface. It works like a dream.
My school has Digi 002s and I want to install drivers to be able to use them to track with Reaper.
I tried installing the drivers today with the interface powered on and everything seemed to install fine. When I power up Reaper it doesn't detect the Digi, but it does detect the Digi Elevenrack Drivers.
Both FW lights on the front and back of the 002 are illuminated. Any idea why it won't let me choose an I/O range? Needless to say it's not working with reaper.
I would really like to be able to use the Digi to track at school as it's a real pain to drag my interface there.
All help is greatly appreciated!

*kindly bump*
I'm going to have another session today and would love any insight into this unusual problem.
I have the standalone Digidesign drivers installed 8.0.2 i think? and Reaper detects them but not the Digi. I can't select an input or output range.
Anyone?

002
I don't know if I can help other than say that my 002 communicates with Reaper with I would say the normal drivers.
I have not used my 002 for a while but I know it worked straight up without fuss when I demoed Reaper ver 2-3.
I have a PC.
The thought occurred.. are you turning on the 002 first and waiting about a minute then turning on your computer? Following correct start up procedure.

I wasn't aware of that startup procedure as I've been using them at school and haven't looked at the manual. I will try that.
When I got into my computer the digi shows up as "PCI to PCI bridge" and it has an error telling me to reinstall the drivers for my express card. I've done that and that didn't fix it.
Hmmm...I'm not using PT either, which is why I had to use the standalone drivers.

hey guys...interestingly enough there was another thread just like this on the GS forums. Someone replied with a link to different drivers. They seem to be better than the ones I had, even though the one I got said it works with Windows 7 and the 002R.
Can't wait to get back to school and see if it works!

For Windows 7 (32/64 bit) you need to install Avid 002R ASIO Drivers V9.02 or higher. It's on the install disc together with PT9 install. In Reaper you then go to preferences & click on ASIO driver & change to ASIO 002R FW or ASIO FW 002R (not at music computer so can't remember exactly what it's called). Anyway there will only be 1 other option besides ASIO, choose that one lol.
Then on inputs select first (eg, Avid Input 1) & the last input (eg, Avid input 8). Do the same for outputs if you need more than 2 (eg, for headphone mixes etc). Hit apply & you should be good to go.

Oh yeah, you have to install drivers with interface OFF/disconnected. Once properly installed, then turn on the interface & Windows will install properly. You can even get Windows to use the Avid 002R ASIO drivers for system sounds, which initially blew my mind. You couldn't do this with previous Digi Drivers & my PC has been silent since 2005 haha. I freaked out a little when I heard Windows system sounds playing through my monitors. Sad but true...
