Default New interface is hogging audio playback

I just purchased a new Mackey ProFX8v2 interface. Since it comes with no drivers I installed asio4all. My problem is that when Reaper is loaded it works fine. However, if I want to listen to a song from another source such as YouTube or Spotify, etc. I can't get any sound if Reaper is running. When I close out Reaper I can get sound from online sources.

Suggestions? I've never used asio4all before so I'm sure I've got some setting somewhere messed up.

thanks

Basically that's a limitation of ASIO (and ASIO4ALL) when there's no dedicated ASIO driver available from the manufacturer which provides multi-client support.
So try using WASAPI (shared mode) as audio driver in Reaper instead.

You could also have a look at the Steinberg ASIO Multiclient: https://www.steinberg.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=48
But in this case the other applications you want to use at the same time (web browser, etc.) need to support ASIO as audio driver, as well.
