Default "virtual" vst?

In a complicated synth like Dexed, I would like to control all several knobs at once. I would prefer this feature in a separate plugin with a configurable interface that I can save as a preset. So for example, I want a preset that gives me two knobs which control all the attacks and all the releases maybe with varying levels of strength mapped across the operators. Is there such a concept? A virtual vst?

A lame version of this concept would be me assigning midi learn to several knobs and hoping it persists between Repear sessions (I haven't tried that, does it?)

What would be the best to accomplish my ideal scenario?

Thanks in advance!

In the forums, we had several discussions on this (mostly called "Macro parameters").

What is needed, is a functionality that applies multiple user-definable functions on an (automateable) knob's value and routes the result to the DAW parameters of (multiple) other plugins.

This can (best) be combined with a functionality that is able to combine multiple plugins in a "Macro-Plugin". That can be "placed" so that this combination can easily be instanced multiple time, at best even in a hierarchical way allowing for macros in macros.

I understand that multiple projects to do appropriate scrips are at work. Some even with sophisticated patch-chord graphics.

Could you name a few of these projects so I may follow them? Thanks for your help!

You could do it between track controls and parameter modulation.

This thread has described exactly what I would like! I will read up on parameter modulation.

Yes Reaper projects keep those assignments.

All this came about because I saw that the Volca FM is essential a macro set of knobs over a DX7. I figured Reaper must have a way to accomplish such a concept. It separates its controls into modulators and operators, which would be a dynamic concept. This means a true virtual vst concept would also be able to query vst specific info.

Multi knob functionality is a great starting point though. Thanks all!
