rendering bug?
im probably doing something wrong but for whatever reason i cannot render one of my projects. i opened up another project and was able to render that one but this particular project will not i have the master mix box checked and the sample rate matches that of my audio interface also im rendering to lame mp3 format. what could i be doing wrong? i also notice that reaper makes this loud popping noise after i cancel the render and my two gtr tracks display clipping as if their is a signal overloading those two tracks. im using amplitube 3 as well as reaEQ on both tracks.
also im running reaper v3.63 on a 64 bit vista os. ive tried rendering in 64 and 32bit reaper versions

- How exactly does it not render? Does it create a 0-byte-file or no file at all or a file with silence etc.?
- Do you have the render dialog set to render the time selection and no time selection set in the project (or a short one in a spot of silence or similar) by chance?
- Have you tried the "1x Offline" and "Online" rendering options?
- Can you list all plugins used in that project?

it renders a file with no sound i notice as it is rendering as if there were no file to render as there is no waveforms being displayed. i checked the propertied of the mp3 file and it is a 71 kb file. strange.
the render dialog is set render time selection and i do have the selection i want to render highlighted and it is not s selection of silence
ive tried the 1x offline and online rendering options, to no avail.
okidoke, i have superior drummer running on track one with all the outputs routed to other tracks and as i said earlier i am running two identical gtr tracks panned left and right which are both running one instance of amplitube 3 and reaEQ each.
i do switch between audio interfaces, one being a presonus inspire firwire and the other a presonus firestudio project. and sometimes when im away from my gear i'll just run the internal audio card.

What if you render that project to wav, does it work ?
I believe that if it does, it means the issue is the lame encoder.

Can you please try opening the project with FX offline and see if it renders ?
If it works with FX offline, you'll be able to narrow the issue to one of your FX by reactivating them one by one until the render fails again.

Thought so...
Try having those 2 guitar tracks in a folder track and stem that folder before rendering.
Also, you may want to try setting Amplitude to a dedicated process.
To do so, in the FX choice list, right click amplitube and select 'run as : dedicated process'. It will remain set as such until you change it back.
That fixes many problematic plugins.
Seems that a lot of people have issues with amplitude3....

you know i just created another project with the same template and i was able to render with amplitube 3. i geuss the previous project had gone buggy or something. i'll keep that info in mind though thanx for the help =]
btw, what exactly happens when you run a plug in as a dedicated process or separate process?

I am no programmer...
But, from what I observed, it gets a thread of it's own and it's own 3.25 gig slice of available RAM, therefor avoiding ressource's limit bugs.
Works magic for me.
Glad you got your session back up and working.

3.25 gigs of available ram per instance? i only have 4 in total available. guess i should finally make that upgrade to 8 gigs of ram.
