Here is the first post.

Music and Timelessness
Its mostly theory and probably wont help much a couple tips here and there but this is a very subjective topic.
Cool, short and sweet.

One thing I'd add is that what sounds outdated changes with current fashions. 80's music sounded painfully dated in the 90's, but I'd say that today 90's music sounds more dated than 80's music, just because of how current trends change how we interpret the past.

If any music is timeless, for Western ears at least, I'd say it is the peak of Western classics music during the period from the end of modernism to the beginning of minimalism. Probably because it was more technical in nature rather than aesthetic. Of course, that may change in time!

Usually about 20-30 years will do it where the cliché, done to death part becomes interesting again when taken and sprinkled in with new stuff. At the end of the day it just needs to sound fresh and interesting. I guess OPI started a thread he can't stop now.

I already stopped it lol. I'm very good at posting stuff in the wrong areas.

Anyways thanks for chiming in! I agree with you on the most part. Its a very interesting topic that I think needs multiple angles from different people in order to get the full picture.

I posted in general thread. Care to move over that way? You got some good ideas 😀

Sure thing!

Maybe report your own post and ask for the threads to be merged by a mod?

Isn't everyone wearing "holes in the knees" jeans again? Didn't this go out in the 80's only to come back first as "relic'd" or pre-worn-in" jeans, and then full fledged holes in the knees and thighs again?

I'm waiting for all my Flannel shirts to come back as fashionably cool. And mine are already "antique" and "vintage". AND pre-worn-in.
