Default Floyd Seven String Saddles

I can't seem to find any replacement saddle sets for seven string floyds, so I am just going to buy some six string sets and mix and match, I think.

On sixes, the two e's are shortest, then the b and a are in between and the d and g are the highest. How does it work on sevens?

Not sure if you have a certain budget but Graphtech sells replacement parts for Floyd.. might be able to find a deal on Amazon or another online vendor.

Also Allparts sells individuals saddles...

A 7 string Floyd will be the same as a 6 string, just with an extra saddle, so the high E and low B are the lowest, high B and low E are a bit higher, G and A are a bit higher still, and D is the tallest.

You can buy shims to fit under the saddles to raise them so that the radius of the bridge matches your fingerboard, so if you are unable to get the saddle for the D, you could get an extra G/A saddle and shim it up a bit.

Ibanez usually have a pretty flat radius.
In this instance, i would probably try having the middle 3 saddles the same, ie highest.

If there is a bit more curve on the fretboard, i would have the middle saddle the highest, then stagger the others down.

Are the Golden Age saddles from stewmac better than the floyd special saddles at stewmac? The special I got had some bad saddles, not sure if all of the "official" specials are like that

The Floyd Rose Special is known to have saddle issues, so I would avoid the official replacement saddles for it. I don't know how the Golden Age saddles stack up next to the Original Floyd Rose saddles, but I bet they're better than the saddles for the Special. I know that the saddles for the Original Floyd Rose are quality, and I think they'll fit, but don't quote me, so they may be an option, too.

You should be able to find the parts you need (and, if you call or email them, info about how the replacement parts will fit your trem) through
