Default Q: Sorting by pitch and selecting tracks

Two quick questions. Is it possible to arrange/organise/sort a selection of media items by their pitch - I'm dealing with individual samples here and it would be great if I could select them all, hit a button/key command and they'd line up in pitch order, ascending or descending. In a similar to way to how we can organise by volume.

Second question: Is there a method to select multiple tracks based on their name? so if I have several tracks with "guitar" in their name I can use a simple command to select them all.

Thanks guys!

I have no idea about the first one, but can imagine it could be hard.

For the selection by the name you could use the SWS extensions Find feature if you have the extensions installed.

Thanks I'll check out the console feature, and the find feature too.

I'm dealing with audio samples so I need it to work out the pitch in a similar manner to something like ReaTune would.

here is the doc:

SWS / S&M Extension

---

For sorting item it is possible with ReaScript, but I don't think the data can be extract from ReaTune directly. maybe manual checking tune in ReaTune and Insert in item notes, and then sort item by notes...
with take name is possible too.

Thanks! any idea about the pitch sort thing? If it's something that someone can code and it's not too time consuming I'm happy to pay for it.

oh ! That's would be great !

I can do 'order with take name' or 'order with item notes', separately for each tracks, keeping snap offset position place.
Pitch would have to be entered manually. (no pitch analyses process in what I propose, just the order and sort thing).
Is that ok for you ?

Hi!

The analyze item pitch scripts and JSFX created to answer this feature requests have been released on this premium script pack, among other scripts on the same subject:

ReaScripts: Virtual Instrument Samples Editing Pack / ExtremRaym

Cheers !
