Default Layout issues

The layout in Reaper that I've been using changed all of a
sudden, not sure why.....I've tried to go back and start from
scratch but the same issue comes up and i'm not able to change
back to the layout as it was earlier. The timeline is now
side by side with the mixer, where, it used to be above
the mixer...also the vertical tracks are horizontal with the
mixer and they used to be above the mixer.....this horizontal
layout is appearing in all the themes options and the default layout,
it used to be a vertical default....How to I switch things back to a
vertical layout, where the mixer and the transport are on the bottom half
of the screen and the horizontal tracks and timeline are above the mixer?
Why would it change, maybe I clicked something unknowingly......I attached
a screen shot that hopefully shows what's going on.....thanks...

It seems like you have accidentally docked Mixer to right instead of bottom. Can't tell from your picture, but there should be a Mixer tab in the bottom right corner of your Reaper window. At the bottom of the tab is a tiny exclamation mark. Right click over that and select from the menu Attached docker position: bottom.

Once you get everything into right positions and sizes, do yourself a favor and go to View/Screensets & Layouts. Select the Windows tab and save your current window screen set there. Name it something like Default, so you can always get back to that screenset easily, no matter how you rearrange things. Better yet, when you come up with good alternative display arrangements, you can save also them as other screen sets and switch between all of them fast and easy.

Found out how to fix the issue, though not sure
how it happened in the first place....and I just stumbled on the
fix....right click on the thin horizontal bar immediately below the horizontal bar that controls the left/right horizontal movement of the tracks in the mixer, and a menu comes up that gives options for positioning the docker,
left, right, top, bottom. --- posted this before
I saw the post above.....which has another means to
the same end. Seeing the exclamation point is tough,
would never have noticed it.

Oh, you mean right-click menu over the docker tab background strip...same as over the exclamation mark? Thing I didn't even remember and it's easier to target too, thanks for a reminder tonetele.
