Riffstation has been around for years and has always gotten good press as a flexible inexpensive practicing tool for guitarist.

Fender, acquired the Irish startup that made Riffstation in 2015. They have not specified why this app and the overall web-based service for learning songs was being deprecated. Google suggest it’s likely got something to do with music licensing issues.

It does a couple of things that are neat. I loaded an mp3 of a song I had previously learned to see what the fuss is about...it lists the BPM and displays the chords in the song as it plays...could be useful...as its free😎

Nice software, easy and fast way to loop a part, but there is this annoying snap when marking loop points. Is there a way to disable it ?

If anyone else has a problem getting the download link (getting bounced back to the home page instead of the link being displayed), my solution (latest Chrome, latest Win10) was to use an Incognito tab. That finally worked.

Very clever bit of software. Finding it useful.

Bump to a month old thread...
I tried this out, really neat & fast GUI. But... I'd like more sophisticated chord dissection. Seems to turn all the Maj 7ths, 9ths, etc. into simple major or minor triads. But, oh well its free!

I often compose guitar progressions, don't write them down, and forget which cool chords I used & have to figure them out all over again months later. Either to play, or make up MIDI parts. A tool like Riffstation, but that could accurately dissect all the chords, would be useful.
