Might be worth a tweak...
Cheers
I know on Windows, but *doh!* never crossed my mind Linux have something like it, but i am mostly straight ALSA or Pipewire-Pulse atm

----

And, if i may rime in the middle of the night.. *REAPER is a Keeper!!* not something you put in the trash-ditch-can (speaking for myself)

Have you managed to make it work with anything at all? like with some pianothingie on the phone or something?

But shut down and restarted and internet is now fine. Weird!!

Glad you got it working. Next person to try using a Bluetooth MIDI device might find this thread useful.

haha yeah! Might have been a local telco hitch, just co-incidence???

Just tried another reboot and all is well, playing Pianoteq nicely!

Yep on Manjaro - BIG thanks to Glenn, it was his comment about the AUR that caused me to re-consider and have one LAST try with Linux.

Much better to go for a system that works than one that looks pretty I guess!

Lesson learned

Thanks! Yes I'll mark it as solved...I think there's enough info and links for another user to figure it out.

Manjaro also have community editions also if you like something there.
https://manjaro.org/download/#Community

Hmm/Ps, i think only Linux Mint have made my connection dizzy so if i was dual-booting back to Windows, Windows would haveto wait for Some Time to get back the connection, but that was with my EX-Computer and not sure of the tech-why's and Never happened with Manjaro/Ubuntu or any other distro and and, and.. all i got

Ps, and i thank James for actually looking and seeing that the AUR version got MIDI-stuffs, i saw the whole thing!
*meep meep*

Don't wanna get *SLAP*!'ed by a SLAP!-expert (BAS J/K)

Veddy cool, so Robbert was correct that Bluez already had the option set for MIDI, and I guess that library you installed has to do with Bluetooth gateways that are needed to expose the MIDI as a port.

Yep! Seems that was it. Would NEVER have done this in anything but Manjaro with the AUR!

I switched to Manjaro from Xubuntu a little less than a year ago because I'm using pretty new hardware, and was concerned that a next gen PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive might not be seen properly, so I switched to Manjaro at the same time as switching from an SSD to the NVMe. Might have worked in Xubuntu, but the kernels lag behind in 'Buntu flavors and I didn't want any surprises.

So when you go into REAPER's Options, Settings, MIDI devices can you select your Bluetooth keyboard after running the "modprobe snd_virmidi" command that 4duhwinnn posted?

No, it still does not appear. In Pianoteq LV2 it simply shows as Wid-master Midi as a valid input. In Reaper, nothing!

As I wrote I even tried enabling all of the virtual ports and channels and still nothing! haha, having an issue with the windows vsts at the moment though! Yabridge (apparently) syncs them, and Reaper (apparently) scans them ok, but they do not appear for use to insert into a track??

Anyway.....*sigh

Maybe issue the command and then start REAPER from the same
terminal window that put in force what the command does.

Like issue these two commands back to back in the same terminal.

modprobe snd_virmidi

~/opt/REAPER/reaper

If REAPER still doesn't see the BT device, you might need to use qjackctl and set REAPER to use JACK for its audio system.

Yes I did read on an other forum that this can APPARENTLY be set in jack, so that's not the first time I've heard it...might have a play around with that.

EDIT: Wow QJackCtl - that's a whole lot of worms in a BIG tin!!! Not sure I'd liek to go there. Me trying to sort that is a recipe for breaking everything hahaha!

Nah, very little needs to even be touched, there are youtubes that will clear the air, it's mainly basic i/o, choose your interface and sample rates etc

Click or hover after a couple of the videos, and you'll be at home!
It's handy to switch between an EWI as your input device, or a keyboard or guitar.
I'm a bag of hammers with a midi cable, so I know you can master it!
Cheers
