What are you listening to right now.
Pretty much every other forum has a thread such as this so I figured, in my hungover state, we should have one too.
I am currently listening to Yes - '90125'.
Trevor Horn is the badger's nadgers.

Funny - I was about to find a thread where I could post http://www.gabrielamontero.com/gabriela_live.php and here you've just created one. If you only have time to listen to one bit, try "chapter ten" where the young pianist improvises on a theme suggested by the audience - a rare trick these days. Once she gets into her stride, it's pretty stunning, IMHO.

I'll have a listen to that in a bit (the laptop I'm using isn't connected to the amp and I feel that music deserves better treatment than the lappy's speakers!). Thanks for the link!
Currently listening to Queen - 'Queen', specifically the rather marvellous Great King Rat.

Now listening to Faith No More - 'The Real Thing'.
Possibly the closest thing to perfect that an album can get.

Now listening to Flaming Lips - 'At War With The Mystics'. They are one of those bands that make the world a better place. If I were a woman I'd have Wayne Coyne's babies.

Eddie Henderson 'Explodition'
Sunburst is a perfect album, as perfect as you're ever likely to find.
"The way Maupin sets his saxello ablaze in the blistering opener, "Explodition," echoes Rahsaan Roland Kirk's firebrand work on this unique instrument. This track crackles in finish like a glass of ice-cold sparkling hard cider crisply slicing through the thick soporific air of sweltering summer humidity. Alphonso Johnson's electric bass teams with George Duke's clavinet piece to give "The Kumquat Kids" a funk swagger smack dab in line with Stevie Wonder's best 1970s inner visions."

Gabor Szabo "Jazz Raga" - first time i listen to one of his albums. Some weird and dated tracks, some pure genius.
Overall it puts a smile on my face - can't ask for more

Faith No More - 'The Real Thing'.
19 years later and it's still unturnoffable.
Immediately prior to this I was listening to Queen II.

Funny you should mention Queen. I've just been listening to We Are The Champions, because I'll probably be playing it at a gig this Saturday. Our keyboard player can't make the gig so I've got to cover the chords as well, and we've got a dep bass player.
Not that I'm worried

Well, I am gay so am allowed a little bad taste occasionally.
Having said that, this is a little too bad. Superb production though.

As very often lately I start my day with the album "Walking the Tiger's Tail" by Nguyen Le, currently playing "Jorai".
Unfortunately this morning i can't hear it as loud as usual, because i got up a little earlier than usual (8 am vs 1 pm ) and people are still sleeping around here.

Yeah, at the time i was referring to the whole album. Question: Does Ob-Zen sound distinctly "lo-fi" compared to there other stuff, to you?

Having a slow day at work today - so far with the iPod on shuffle I've listened to songs by:
Meshuggah (Bleed), Peter Gabriel (Shock the Monkey), Nothingface (Ether), Nasum (Inhale / Exhale), Faith No More (Evidence), As I Lay Dying (Nothing Left), Exodus (Fabulous Distaster), Prince (When Doves Cry), Iron Maiden (Hallowed be thy name), At the Gates (Cold), Mars Volta (Wax Simulacra), U2 (Electrical Storm), Primus (Jerry was a Racecar Driver), Nirvana (D7) - Can't remember which others...
Funny thing is, I almost didn't need coffee this morning listening to this playlist.
Perhaps this truly is the cure for coffee addiction - blow your brains out with metal, relax every other song or so, repeat.
I will continue the clinical trial. More data necessary. Carry on.

I get obsessive about albums and basically listen to one or two constantly at any given time.
For the past couple weeks I've been hooked on Kurt Rosenwinkel's album "Intuit", which is an early recording of his that's all standards. I'm currently working out his solo to How Deep Is The Ocean. He's my new guitar hero!

Rush - Hemispheres
I'm a Rush head since err... they've been in existence? I.T. dude put their entire portfolio up on a server. I let WinAMP cycle through the collection and then move on to something else until the Rush bug bites again.

I've been moving house today so it's been the radio in the car and the sound of my poor, neglected body creaking and wheezing, but in between i can't stop singing the last bit from Horse Hunter by DEP, it's just so damn catchy. Whilst getting my breath back and drinking tea I've been watching movies of Mare on Youtube - such an amazing band.
I've never really gotten on with Meshugga but I was really impressed with the 1st couple of listens to Obzen - however it's quickly getting really boring for me. There's just something about their sound that is so sterile.

Agree, although Meshuggah is one of my faves, they do get boring and a bit redundant after a while.
There is only so much pummeling you can hear, before you need a break. That's when I pop in something mellow like... Cryptopsy!

I'm listening to something very silly I did last night in response to a poll question on another site: http://www.mugfungus.com/stuffnotthings.mp3
40 seconds of nonsense.
Sorry to hear about John Rutsey.
