Default Selected track's volume goes up although solo in front is not enabled

Hello.

As I indicated in the title, when I select a track, the volume goes up although I haven't touched the fader nor enabled solo in front or anything like that.

In fact, the levels of other tracks remain the same and only the volume of the currently selected track goes up quite a bit.

It goes back to normal as soon as I select another track like a vca track which has no item it seems.

The other thing is, it only happens in this one particular project and other projects don't behave like this.

If anybody has a clue as to what the culprit could be, I would really appreciate it because it is frankly annoying and I can't mix like this.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Check undo history. Perhaps some device or a script change it.

2.9 Keyboard Shortcut and Mouse Defaults You can use the command Help, Keybindings and Mouse Modifiers (or just press Shift+F1) to open your web browser with a list of REAPER's mouse modifiers and keyboard shortcuts. As you will see in Chapter 15, you can also define your own mouse modifiers, keyboard shortcuts and action keys, so that your mouse and keyboard behavior is determined by the context in which you are using it.

Above excerpt from REAPER user guide.

Is it possible you set up one of the above behaviours?

Good luck

Default Thank you for your input!

Hello.
Thank you for your advice☆

I tried checking the history and mouse modifiers and so on, but no luck as of now.

I copied the tracks to a new project tab by group (like drums, bass, guitars, and so on) and checked if the same phenomenon would persist.

For a cause I can not pinpoint, this time, the rise of the volume did not happen.
So, I can at least continue working on the project.

Yet, I really want to know what is causing the phenomenon in question.
So strange indeed.

Hello.
Not really so.

The point is, regardless of which track I choose, the volume would go up.
Such a mystery because the same tracks copied to a new project tab would behave as expected.

I looked through the options available in the Actions, but I could not come across anything that would just turn up the volume of a selected track.

Such a mystery indeed.
