Bigger faders on this theme. You listen to "daddy" (just kidding). Looks awesome as always.
You been busy lately with all new themes. As we say in Sweden "Diligent as an ant" (flitig som en myra).

I had to make a bigger fader for the VCA.
I tried a slightly smaller version on the regular layout and thought it was a better fit for this theme.

Just a joke about the Transport Button discussions re: V6 Default

@Lucas
I noticed last night that the volume automation lane coloring in the TCP is very hard to see (Black on Black). I changed it to a green which is an easy fix, but I thought you might like to know about the issue. Thanks again for the great theme.

The first image is before I made the change to the theme in the theme tweaker.
The Trim Volume is there, but extremely hard to see.
This is a screen shot of the default setting for the trim volume for the theme in the Theme Tweaker
This screen shot shows the change I made in the Theme Tweeker
This images show what the volume lane looks like after the change

Note: quotes are taken from another thread.
I moved them here to keep from derailing that thread.

Untrue.
My POV is that I am limited to Full HD because of my current hardware.
I cannot create 4K or Retina because I am unable to check and then adjust the work as needed for those resolutions on my current monitor.

I was so on point, lol.
IF YOU FEEL I frustrated you with the next read, don't read it. No need to reply.
At the end of the day, if you feel upset about what I am saying, please just stop reading and after all: "Hey, you don't like it, why don't you just do it yourself", always applies, right?
Also, probably a "long" read. Also I am writing because you seem to be willing to hear a guy's heart/mind.
Ok, before you read the following, I want to make clear that:
I am just looking to: probably make you change your mind and get a new 4k monitor, with amazing true color accuracy (I know, prob. not feasable because of everybody's financial situation). Maybe just a dumb wish.
Nevertheless, that's an intention not just for you, but
for all that have an artist within them (just like yourself have), so that you or anyone else can express themselves to their best potential.
I know, in a way, I am NOBODY to make demands or have a (even if a good one) good intention for anyone. But then, if I am NOBODY, no one is.
Also, to me it's kind of disappointing to see someone who seems to work so hard (long hours) just to give us the best free skins/themes and mods just for nothing.
I mean it's great, I honestly what I am trying to say if I was rich I'd buy you an amazing 4k monitor you could work in. Or at least buy one and lend it to you (so you wouldn't sell it). And not expecting something in return.
Omg, so many things to say. Whatever.
Also, I feel most designers (not just you) know what true black means because they don't have/use OLED screens. It's totally a different ball game.
About 80's graphics, I guess I was wrong in a way (I just googled 80's graphics and went to the images tab, omg, that looks great).
What I mean is that just an example (and please don't take it personal, I could do this with any Reaper skin designer, even with White Tie's) andI KNOW probably this is subjective as I KNOW design (at least to my eyes) is ART too:
The whole Reaction by Silent theme looks dated (that's what I meant by 80's graphics, but me using that reference was wrong).
Then you did a mod of it. Which is great for an exercise. But still looks dated.
(His original presentation made it look way better than what it actually looked like in the first place). Still it looked dated when it appeared for the first time.
But I guess talking about a Reaper 4? theme is useless nowadays. Just let me make it clear that I find all buttons and icons and what not as if they were made with Paint 1 (and yeah, I know there are Davincis on the internet that can make my cry with their abilities using said program).
Your FLAT theme I feel is your best so far. All the elements, icons, images look great (simple but great, they don't have to be out of this world and rendered in 3d to be great).
It's not cluttered, at least doesn't feel that way, even when the MCP has lots of stuff going on at the same time (elements) you managed to have a balance in color vs blacks/grays.
Forgive me if I don't say more about this theme, but that's because I find it perfect (expect it's not for 4k monitors) (excpet sliders which I feel they were done in 1 min just to get them out of the way, meaning not much thinking into them was taken).
So for me the Nova 2 theme made by another user is the perfect one (in a way resembles your theme as it has the same balanced "architecture).
But then we have an oldie from you: LUNA.
Is this a Reaper 4 theme or before? It feels like it. Not current.
I am talking only about your themes, loads of themes have lots of "sins".
Everything looks so date, except maybe the panning knobs and panning sliders (they could use a lift though). BPM knob looks nice too. But the nice things get lost in what feels like for example in the MPC/MCP: Even though it seems there are less elements than in FLAT's, feels so cluttered, maybe because of the colors, or way too big elements, and elements anyway look way dated (with dated I mean most of the time. Text, numbers, colors, etc, look so dated. Except where it reads V C A and the output text on the Master track of the MCP/MPC.
I am judging from the image on the stash site.
Send knobs look nice.
FLAT vs LUNA : Like night and day. (And I am not talking about graphics style,
that is relevant, but design wise //element placement/element creation as in clean, pristine//)
Sesshin-G: Ok, just by changing the "hurts my eyes" blue to gray changes everything. I mean, looks way better already, still elements are dated ofc.
Mahina: Way better than Sesshin and Luna, except panning knobs, those look way dated. Sliders look better but still as if they were made in Paint 1 and not in Photoshop (by this comparison I mean they could use more detail so they look cleaner (more defined). Style of the sliders is nice but how can I say it, they look like they were made in a Chinese factory and not made in America (I hate the term but oh well). Or Italy as in Ferraris?
Oh yeah, that's the best comparison I can say: Not that the elements used in your themes are bad per se, but look so dated because they look like a cheap wolksvagen vs a Ferrari (you know how you look at a Ferrari and you want to PET IT because looks with amazing finishing, polished, reflects light so nice, etc, I think you know what I mean).
Again, this doesn't APPLY to FLAT. That one is pretty pretty good you know I already said that in your original theme's thread.
Maybe what I want to say is that: It seems you are very talented and work hard and I hate you see it wasting it (here I am wrong as you probably are very happy with the results who am I to judge your thoughts/feelings/perspective) doing those other themes. I feel you can make amazing works of arts (like a Mona Lisa) but instead you are making drawings that perhaps look nice but you sell them in the park for 100 dollars (vs making millions with a Mona Lisa).
Ok, a Mona Lisa looks dated, don't get me wrong, hhaha.
And don't get me wrong, not charging or asking for donations is nice.
Although for sure I would donate if I found your theme amazing and usable in a 4k environment. (I am guilty I haven't donated to the Nova 2 creator I just need to find the right moment).
Ok, I am sure you are pretty bored at this point if you read so far.
Wish you the best (read my signature). Cheers.

It's not LCS fault, nor his themes's, that You prefer Flat-Style Themes..
Somebody else might think his Retro-Tech style themes are the Best possible thing that ever existed.
And both views are Right,
it's just a matter of Taste.
LCS does a solid excellent job in each theme he touches/releases,
there's no use/need in telling him what/how to do it, or in telling him to change his approach/style.
It's OK if you have a suggestion/request for a particular element of a theme..
But he does what he does because that's his style and way of doing it..
and then he shares it with us, and we should be grateful.

@ sightlessness
Thanks for taking the time to clarify and I appreciate your thoughts on this.
A lot of the issues you mentioned are due to modifying old themes and the lack of a 4K or Retina monitor so I can see what needs to be done for higher resolutions.
The Flat-6 theme is a mod of the Default-6 theme, but only for the 100% size.
All the other sizes use the White Tie's Modders Pack graphics, so if you are referring to those images, that's all White Tie's work.
I should probably remove those sizes and only make the 100% layouts available like I did with the MBE version to avoid confusion.
Most of my other themes are builds from or mods of existing Reaper 4 themes, so the dating is built-in, but I still like those themes and find them viable in the 1080/HD environment.
When I move to a 4K or UHD/Retina environment and a vector graphics program, I will likely update some of them.
My graphic skills are limited though, so I can't say the images will necessarily be better.
@ ernzo
Thanks!
love that "Retro-Tech" tag.

For me, the LCS themes are some of my favorites on the stash. I know flat is the new black, but I still dig the Vintage-Retro vibe. I like some of the flat stuff, also, but some of it is rather lifeless.

It's only relatively Retro tho, like let's say 90's/00's type technology..
Maybe like quality video-editing racks/consoles of that era, or perhaps Korg/Roland style multieffects..
It was the golden era of Gadgets (and Sci-Fi, and VCR remotes..),
specially compared with the homogeneous/monotonous universal flat design things tend to have nowadays..
and that's perfectly alright with me!
Still the actual Mixer Consoles that are sold nowadays, are usually more Retro than what you do,
because they imitate the stuff from the 70's/80's..
Only a few of them have a modernized 90's look, and even less of them have an actual flat/white design look.
It's a difficult thing to describe in words tho, because the experience varies for each individual..
But you put a lot of attention/effort at what you do, and it shows

ah. so are the new buttons better or do you prefer the first version?
I was never totally happy with the original buttons for this.
My first attempt to change them ended up becoming LCS_ZeroDarkSix.
These buttons came about because I was trying to 'upgrade' the look of the LCS_Default_2.0_Dark.
I decided to try them here first and they work well to me.
Default 2 Dark is doing very well as-is, so I think it was the right choice.

After testing out the theme for a bit... I think the new buttons would stand out better IMO.

Looked at this several times before & never thought to ask if there is a light version of this? My eyes are so knackered I can`t handle the dark versions of anything.

No, I don't think I ever thought about making a 'light' version.
Not sure how that would work out.
The Meter and Fader would likely remain dark and may not look right or good with lighter elements around them.
I may look into it though, once the button update is done.
