Default WDL/swell: Has GDI been implemented for Linux?

I can't get WDL/swell's GDI functions to work in Linux: nothing appears onscreen when I try to draw rectangles or other graphics within REAPER's windows.

Do I need to do anything special (such as initialize some setting) before using these functions in Linux, or have they in fact not yet been implemented for Linux?

(I am currently using Xubuntu.)

The comments in swell-gdi-generic.cpp say "This file provides basic win32 GDI--> null translation", which I would understand to mean that indeed the functions are not supposed to do anything. (The implementations are not entirely empty, though...)

In any case, I think it would be best to forget GDI even exists. Does it have some functions for drawing that LICE does not cover?

As far as I understand, GDI is required for blitting LICE bitmaps to and from the screen. So at the very least, it would require GetDC and BitBlt. GetDC seems to work, but not BitBlt.

Is there any other way to blit LICE bitmaps to the screen?
