3.161: Pitch shifter parameter box disappears in Project Settings
Running on XP Home SP3...
1. Open Project Settings.
2. Select any pitch shifter parameter -- the same, a new one, or even clicking outside the parameters to make no new selection.
3. Drop-down box disappears. However, clicking in that area will bring the dialogue box up again (as if it is still there).
4. Any changes stick as they are there if you close and then re-open the Project Settings dialogue.

What?
Dropdown box working just fine here. That's the normal dropdown box behavior :/ Nothing's broken.

Hmmm... I assume you looked at the JPG I attached?
I wonder what other variables are at play. Hardware? Settings? Other parameter drop-downs work just fine.

Confirmed for 3.161 on PC
Edit: select a mode and them a parameter and the parameter drop down menu disappears until you click in the area.

I can't confirm. This Xmas is full of phantom bugs! First Evan's MIDI editor bugs which I can't confirm, then this!

Nope, this doesn't reproduce it here.

No confirm... neither Reaper x86 nor x64 on Win7x64. It works as expected...

Can't confirm either (XPH/Pro/Vista). Strange.

I switched to a default XP theme. The behavior was slightly different. The parameter would remain but the drop down box/arrow would disappear.
Then I went back and disabled the theme (System Properties > Advanced > Performance Settings > Adjust for best performance) and confirmed that I still had the original issue.
I noticed that Steindork's Default pitch shift mode was elastique 2.1 Efficient. Mine was set to Pro. I tried Efficient and it work just fine (like in Steindork's animation). Went back to Pro. Doesn't work.
Can you try to duplicate with elastique 2.1 Pro?

Ooops! That's it. As soon as I choose elastique 2.1 Pro, the parameter settings disappear. Choosing another algorithm gets it back again, but without the border and the drop-down arrow until it's clicked. And yes, this happens every time.
Hmm... even worse, try this:
1. Open Project Settings, my default algo is Sound Touch
2. Choose elastique 2.1 Pro, the parameter settings disappear
3. Choose Sound Touch again, parameter settings appear but without border and drop-down arrow
4. Click the parameter settings drop down, it gets drawn correctly
5. Choose elastique 2.1 soloist, the parameter settings disappears again!
Doing the above I get the parameter settings to disappear on every second choice of pitch shift algorithm, irrespective of the particular algo I choose; even choosing elastique 2.1 Pro, reinstates the parameter settings. Need to click in the incorrectly redrawn parameter setting in-between, but this is fully reproducible.
And it works the same on both Reaper x86 and x64 on Win7 x64.

Not on my DuX' XP32 machine either... for me the problem occurs only under Win7x64. But there, it is fully reproducible (see post above).

Strange that you can repro that on Win7, I can't repro on Vista (thought they should behave pretty similar):
But I do confirm that this happens on XP with 2.1 Pro selected.
Crucial for reproducing this is that you select an item in the dropdown list that is beyond all mouse pointer positions that would give the focus back to the dropdown menu - in the moment the mouse pointer hovers over the dropdown menu it reappears.
There's also a little difference here: I can't get it to disappear by clicking beneath the dropdown box.

That's not the way it works for me.
Irrespective of whether the cursor is over the place where the drop-down should be or not, it doesn't show. (I'll DL jing, see if I can make a screen-cap).
I'm beginning to think this is a display issue. I have another app (DSynchronize) where the GUI elements overlap horribly on my Win7 laptop, but not on my XP laptop. The Win7 lappy has 1920x1200 resolution, my XP laptop 1280x800.
EDIT: Hmm... even Jing's setup dialog shows overlapping GUI items on my Win7 machine...
EDIT^2: (Maybe jing isn't really what I expected it to be, but...) here it is http://www.screencast.com/users/Oppf...2-ef78fb564642

That happens with Elastique Pro 2.0. here as well (on XP), but again the mouse pointer passing the dropdown box area recovers the display. I start to think this is not OS dependent at all. But what else?
P.S. You left the mic on while recording the video. Shreeeeed click shred shred click...

Oops, sorry... That was (supposed to be) in the background Iggy and the Stooges, 1969!

Maybe because I don't have Elastique v1 and DiracLE installed?

Maybe... but if I start Reaper fresh, go into project Settings (with no project loaded) and change from SoundTouch (the default) to Elastique 2.1 Pro, it shows the same behavior.
