Default Extract vocal with AI: Spleeter

Not perfect, but interesting for sure

https://deezer.io/releasing-spleeter...e-2b88985e797e

And a video explaining how to get it up and running under windows, it requires python to run and only works on 64 bit OS

Oh that's cool. I see some comments that Izotope RX7 can already do this, but nice to have a free tool!

Interestingly that even if the vocal doesn't seem to sound that great, once you put it into a song it sounds pretty good. Gonna be making some bootlegs

I've just got the command line pre-typed in a document, just add song titles and copy paste whole string into window.

Yea that's smart. Really I wouldn't use this too much, but my brother's big into sampling. He'd love it but I bet I'd have to do the leg work so I'll just keep it under my hat for now...

If installing spleeter is too much hassle, you can just upload an mp3 to this website and it’ll give you the stems

The link in the video specifies that you only get MP3s as stems. Does the commandline version give you wav, or the same format as you input?

Do not forget, we have Reaper, you are one key hit away from the result. How? By creating a python script, triggering a command line, e.g. via AutoHotkey. It works at least in windows or linux via wine, in mac probably as well if there is wine.

Select an item, hit a key, there you have your result files, if you set all correctly. You need to use the project directory as well in your command line.

Does RX7 work from the command line? Get the vocals, followed by speech recognition, there you have your automatic lyrics writing machine.

I sent a command line from Reaper using ExecProcess to process the item source with sonic-annotator.exe using a VAMP plugin, so the same could be done with Spleeter and it could insert the stems into Reaper under the original and mute the original.
I suppose it would have to create a folder from the song name in the source location then insert all the media in that folder into Reaper.
Code:
reaper.ExecProcess([[cmd.exe /C " cd ]] .. script_path .. [[sonic/win32/ & set VAMP_PATH=]] .. script_path .. [[sonic/win32/vamp; ]].. script_path .. [[ & "sonic-annotator.exe" -d vamp:nnls-chroma:chordino:simplechord -w csv "]].. filename ..[["]],0)
