Default audio skipping

hey i'm pretty new to this program and i'm still working out the kinks and all..well my band and i were recording a live track so we could remember somethings we wrote in practice. and might i add not the first time we have done this using reaper but when you play back the music it sounds like it skips like a cd would when scratched if anyone has had the same problem and knows how to fix it please get back to me.

thanks a lot.

Default Check your buffer size settings on your audio interface

It sounds like your buffer size is too low for the PC's processor to keep up with. This is exacerbated by having many tracks recording at once and running effects in real-time.

What is your hardware? Do you have other apps running in the background like AntiVirus or Windows/Google Desktop search? These types of apps kill your performance. And check the buffer size on your hardware interface. Is it the same as when you made previous recordings of your band?
