Default Export MIDI Type1 forgets the track take names

Hi,

I have a need to occassionally edit MIDI type1 files. Those are the ones with multi-tracks and each track has a take name. At first all seems good. When I drag the type1 MIDI file into Reaper it recognises the multi-tracks and makes each MIDI track available on its own separate reaper track. Very nice. And it shows the original take names.

After editing the MIDI notes and changing the names of the takes, I exported the project as a MIDI type1 file. I even went to the trouble of changing the track names too.

When I re-open that edited MIDI file in another application, or re-open it in a new Reaper project, all of my name take changes have been replaced and/or forgotten?

This is a problem as the other application that I use will list the available takes and the take names won't make any sense.

Am I making any sense? Hopefully!!!
