REAPER - ReWire - Pro Tools LE - Help!
I have created a stereo Aux track and under 'multichannel plug-in' > 'Instruments,' REAPER is not showing up in my plug-ins list, therefor I can't use it via ReWire. Both work fine individually. I've tried restarting, trashing Prefs & Databases, etc. and no luck! Any help would be awesome.
I'm using...
Mac OSX 10.5.8
Pro Tools LE 8.0.3cs2
Mbox 2
REAPER 3.51

Thanks Shane. I downloaded your template, but when opening I get...
"The following plug-ins were made inactive because they could not be found in the plug-ins folder:
REAPER (6)"
Obviously because it's not showing up in my plug-ins, and you have 6 instances running.
ReWire is working awesome on my PC, I'm just trying to have the same luxuries on my Mac. When I installed on Mac, all I did was drag the two applications into the Applications folder, the usual, I guess. Just wondering if I missed something... On a MacBook Pro, btw... My PC is my main rig, but I like mixing on the go and tracking remote with the MacBook Pro, so it'd be very helpful to have them both going so that I can import sessions back and forth.
Any ideas?

Reinstall REAPER and report back. I've recently come across a bug that I cant reproduce. Reinstalling REAPER fixed it. You might be seeing this same behavior that I have.

Create a mono Aux track and see if REAPER is even in your plug-in menu:
Also, do you have any other ReWire based plug-ins such as BFD or Reason etc? If so, let's see if your PT rig is even recognizing those.

Also, are you seeing the REAPER ReWire Slave app in your REAPER folder?

I have Melodyne Studio which runs ReWire. Here's an image, note the REAPER logo beside Pro Tools in the dock.

I don't see REAPER in that menu when it should be.

That I wouldn't know. It will be in your main REAPER directory.

Waves ReWire will only be there if you have Waves Tune.

If you go to your Applications Data folder:
You should see a REAPER ReWire file in there:

Reinstall REAPER and make sure you have ReWire checked under Additional Functionality:

This is what the install screen looks like on Mac...
...all I do is drag into the Applications folder, and it's installed. Mac is easy like that, but you never know what all is included in the package, unless you right-click and "Show Package Contents." I did that, but still don't see any ReWire info.

Any other Pro Tools/REAPER users on Mac wanna chime in? I believe Russ is running both successfully in the Mac environment. I assume everything installs okay - anyone, any issues?

Well, I'm at a loss for any further suggestions and troubleshooting steps. Even many at the DUC have it running fine:

I'm in the same boat on OSX, not a single trace of Reaper ReWire anywhere on my system.

Make sure all of those are enabled. I just did that and closed and reopened REAPER, then added "ReWire: REAPER" as an effect to a track and now I have reaper-rewire.ini in my REAPER folder. I don't have my PT interface with me to test but with any luck after doing that you'll get it going.

I'm having a similar issue with my setup - have a 2.53 C2D MacBook Pro, OS X 10.5.8, Pro Tools 7.4 LE, original MBox and Reaper 3.51
Have a few projects that I'm working on in Pro Tools and was looking for an easy way to export the projects to Reaper for mixing. Rather than 0 bouncing each individual channel in realtime (of which there are about 30 channels), I was hoping that it might be possible to set the output of a channel (or a bus) in Pro Tools to 'rewire' into a track within reaper. i.e. playing thru the project once with each track routed via rewire to reaper would transfer the entire project in one go.
Not even sure if this is possible. But my issue is that neither of the apps can see each other. In reaper I have rewire options for sibelius and melodyne, but nothing for Pro Tools. There's nothing at all in the plug-in list in Pro Tools.
Not sure what to do. Is this an issue with the OS X version of reaper?

This is a separate issue, and not really an issue actually. PT can not be a ReWire slave and very unlikely it ever will. Consolidate(Alt+Shift+3) your tracks in PT from the session start and have REAPER share PT's audio folder:

thanks Shane,
Will look into that later once I get back to my digi HW.
Downloaded and installed your PT cursors; they seem to work perfect on my mac. Cheers, making the transition from PT to Reaper all the more painless.

Keep us posted on your PT/REAPER session sharing venture. I'm all for making it quicker and easier so feedback is always useful.

will do, I'm back at my setup later today and will take one of my projects in PT and see how easily I can work it into a reaper session.
Also, what's the best route for screen catching on a mac? I've been experimenting with the audio editing - particularly trying to get round the issue of no edit groups (seems to be a major omission - a lot of the stuff I record is multi mics) and have a nice enough method figured out, but wanted to video it and put it up, so others could look at it and maybe suggest improvements to the workflow.

This is a very good way to organize sessions, yes. I still have separate audio drives for both apps because I´m not sure what I´m gonna do with PTLE after all... this Reaper -plunge has been quite a trip for me.

I find most new REAPER users from the PT world want it to work 100% just like PT. Though this can be done in many areas, I find that once one gets deep into REAPER and recognizes the power of it's actions/scripts and user created custom work flows etc, that initial concept quickly goes away.

Just bumping this for some Mac users to chime in on screen capture apps.
The only one I've used on Mac was Camtasia for Mac...and that's just because I'm a PC user so I cant really offer any recommendations in this area.
As a side note and a wee bit off topic, it's quite the big relief not to see this "Mac vs PC" crap here like we see on the DUC. Most of my own posts are right here in the OSX forum and I'm a PC user...and no one cares.
...and that's the way it should be.

Exactly what´s happening to me after the initial confusion. This freedom is just so great. Now my REAPER looks a little like Logic, has PT cursors and functions, Cubendo toolbar... and tomorrow I may like some different looks & functions , depending on the song.
I definitely overlooked all this REAPER customization fun while struggling in "basic functions" in the beginning.
And even more : I´m doing lots of this testing / learning right here at my ancient single gore AMD "Email-computer".
