Snippets dont work in VSCODE

[Malfunction]

I downloaded lokasennas and mespotines code snippets. I know its some kind of .codesnippets file. I put it in the ...\AppData\Roaming\Code\User\snippets

They are detected in VS Code as some kind of global codesnippets. But they dont seem to work. I have set the document type to LUA. And all kinds of crazy settings in the setting.json file.

Should I look for another IDE or quit programming?

I probably can not help but could you provide the link to the snippets?
Maybe this gives clues to those who know vscode.

If I remember correctly, the user snippets are independent from the extensions (like the lua-intellisense one shown in your screenshot).
Also, keep in mind that there are other lua extension options available like, for instance, vscode-lua, etc. (if the 'lua-intelisense' one isn't working)

I should also mention, that I don't maintain code-snippets and the Mespotine-ones were made by someone else.
So they are probably outdated and do not reflect the latest state.

Another option besides using code snippets is to search for functions here: https://www.extremraym.com/cloud/reascript-doc/
Then copy the code you need (via left click) and paste it into the IDE.

Regarding the .codesnippets file
VSCode says there is "1 problem is this file"
All the global snippets files have this one problem.

Found the problem.
the codesnippets files contained html code
They had the correct extension name (.codesnippets ) when they were downloaded, which is why the confusion.
I messed up when downloading from github. Case closed.

Yeah, this messed-up-download-problem is a pita. I had this numerous times as well...

I just realized, that you removed the links to the snippets, could you readd them into this thread?
Just so others can use them as well and can find them, when they're interested in it.
