If you like those uprights check out this album I produced last year
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hopeland-Tre...1022058&sr=1-1
used Upright 1 a lot on that album, I've just finished the follow up to it, the new one is released on Oct 4'th , its called 'Keepers'and I used upright 2 on that for a change.
Timothy, I hope this doesn't look like I'm stealing your thunder just got side tracked about the piano

Sounds terrific! Very professional sounding...... Oh hold on here............. Made in Reaper you say? I take it all back because it couldn't possibly sound as good as I think it does. Even though my ears are telling me one thing, my brain is telling me if not made in Protools it can't sound good. Hope you understand. J
P.S. Don't send me the password if I'm in the 1st 20 as I will pay the $5.

Just thought I'd share this with you:
My girlfriend heard me playing your CD and she said, quote:
"That's awesome!!! Can you put that on my iPod for me please? I wanna listen to that when I'm on the T"
(Boston train/transit)
So, for whatever it's worth - we love your CD! Thanks for sharing it with us. Reaper certainly is a great DAW. Well done man!
Say, did you master it yourself? or...did you take it to a local house?

Small print sez it's all his own work, so well done there too, I'd say.
I really like the open spacious sound. I imagine it was a big job so well done for completing it.

thanks Ben,
Stoked your girlfriend liked it!
Yeah I did the mastering process.
But I dont think a real Mastering engineer would call it that.
If you know what I mean.
I basically created a Reaper sess with all the stereo renders on their own tracks and tried to make them all sound the same-ish
maybe if funds allow, one day ill take it and get it done properly.
Thanks again.

If I may ask, what processing did you use on your master bus? Or, in general, tracking plugs too for that matter? Mics, preamps, etc.
I really, really like the "sound" of your album. Well done.
And yes, the music isn't half bad either hehe...
Thanks
Ben

Sure:
Pres from digi 002
Mics: akg414 on pretty much everything, added K2 when I wanted stereo.
Borrowed my bro in laws set of akg drum mics and extra presonus (i think) pres when doing drums.
Without opening all the sessions, Main plugs were.
Cockos and JS plugs, of course. reaEQ was the only eq I used.
Compressor from T Racks Bundle.
on master: ReaEQ, TRacks Comp, W1 Limiter (L1 Clone)
but I also had ReaEQ on each song track in the master session.
There must have been sooooo many instances of reaEQ throughout.
Thanks

Awesome. You are truly a talented musician. I really think the album sounds great. How long did it take you to record/track the whole mix, all songs? Not as long as it took to write them all I bet, hehe...
I don't quite compose the same style as you, but I do a more experimental/folk/spoken word/multimedia stage approach:
1x RE20
1x C414 XLS
2x Karma K-10s (outstanding on acoustic guitar, seriously - get a pair now)
1x AT4050
Preamps: From weakest to best -> DBX 386, ART DMPAII, m101, and my all time favorite for everything: 2BA-221. (Great for voice overs)
For plugins, I used to use SONAR plugs: Vintage Channel, etc. But I mainly now use SoundToys, Sonnox, and URS.
Thanks again for sharing with us man, you rock!
