Default Routing question

Hi,
When routing Kontakt into Reaper, I saw in tutorials that you have to create 2 tracks per instrument:
- 1 for the MIDI to be sent to the Kontakt Host track
- 1 with the audio sent from Kontakt
Is there a way to create only 1 track that would both send the MIDI and receive the audio?

not really and depending on how complex what is loaded into Kontakt is, it might not make sense to do that...
but if you just have a single instrument loaded, you can have the midi right on the Kontakt track and when it is OK, freeze that track

What hopi says, and there is a action to do what you want but I can't remember what it's called. Somebody might come along with an answer, but I'm with hopi, I use separate midi tracks, it's much safer.

Thanks guys.
That's what I thought. I use the one instance per instrument just now but keep seeing orchestral templates with several instruments loaded in one instance.
