Default Is it possible to convert a photo to video?

Just like most of the video editing apps do, insert an image file and play it as long as you want

Of course.

Place an image on a track and stretch the item as long as you want. That's all.

Oh man! I have used reaper for 6 months, but didn't know I can easily drag an image file into it until now!

I've just gotten a request from a group to post an Audio Track as a video file [with static image[s] for their FaceBook page.

It looks like REAPER can do this.

If so ... what video format should I use for a FaceBook posting ?

Thanks for any insights/guidance.

You should use h264 as this is the best compromise between size and quality. And its a widespread format. But I have no idea if its the best for Facebook as I don't use it.

I don't do FB either ... but I did do a test Video with a static image ... it worked just fine.

It Render as a .mov file ... I renamed it to MP4 ... still worked. Used 800x600 resolution with 16-bit audio. Video quality was decent [not as good as the original photo ... but, the file size was 756 meg ... rather than 3.2gig with my initial test.

I sent the file to the client. Waiting for reply and how it works for them.

still ... this is research ... so any one that can provide info is much appreciated.

Thank-you !

One more thing: You should check the Loop-checkbox in the Media Item Properties so the image is seen as unlimited long. Otherwise you have only one second or so.
