Default Default screen position for floating FX

Is there a way to set a default screen position for floating fx windows? Perhaps something in the theme config file? I'm getting tired of constantly having to drag these windows to get them to show up where I want them to.

Don't they stay where you put them? The positions should get saved in the project file. I wish there was a preference for this though too.

You can try turning off the auto-position plugins preference too.

Yeah, they do stay where you put them in a project, but I still have to drag them to the right spot each time a I open a particular instance of a plugin for the first time in a project. I use a lot of FX instances so this can get pretty tedious. I'm hoping there's some way to set a global position preference that will apply to all new floating FX windows, but it looks like I might be out of luck.

Yea, it's pretty annoying you can't even save the positions into an fx chain. The best I can come up with for you are the sws actions to move the floating window to the mouse cursor. Perhaps they help a bit. You can hit a key instead of always dragging.

Another bump. It is very time consuming having to drag every new FX plugin i add.

Again, there are SWS actions to move floating fx to the mouse cursor. I just click my middle mouse button to instantly get fx under my mouse. I doubt it gets easier than that.

And in prefs/plugins there is an option to automatically put new ones somewhere another one isn't.

Hello.
I've tried all the SWS "move window to mouse cursor" scripts and literally all of them don't work. I've assigned a keyboard shortcut to trigger them. Nothing. No errors, no bugs, no visual changes. It's just nothing happens.

Can you tell me how you have yours working? I'd love to move floating windows to my mouse please.

This is how mine is set up:

Has worked very well for some time now (triggered from thumb buttons on Logitech G600 mouse)

When I add a new FX, it opens wherever it chooses but I just double-press the related mouse button slot and closes and re-opens under my mouse.

I'll have a look on my main rig tonite because I thought it was a script and not sws, but I don't see anything else on my lappy rn...

But for the record, I can use those sws actions just fine here as well. Might try using the global scope setting if it's not working. Maybe some focused text field interferes.

This is very interesting! The moving action works well when used in this custom action. I don't understand why it wouldn't work by itself though

EDIT: Okay it works now! You have to have the floating FX selected for it to work
EDIT2: Lachrimae, honestly your custom actions are genius! This is definitely going to speed up my workflow. Choosing the shortcut scope as global helps to quickly toggle and I love it! Thank you for sharing.
