Default Most stable version on Mac OS Mojave?

Hi guys,

what is the latest stable version for Mac OS Mojave?
I am running 5.965 an to be honest, I've experienced more crashes in a week than on my desktop Windows rig for years.

Hesitant to update to latest version, as I don't need new features.
I need stable DAW.

As for "VST culprits", trust me, using minimum number of VST vendors.

Many thanks for help.

Post the crash reports. If you know how to make it reliably crash, share the steps. It's most likely a plugin crashing because of a bug in itself, a plugin crashing because of a compatibility bug in REAPER, or more rarely REAPER itself crashing (such bugs are usually quickly fixed when reported).

Thank you for your answer, it all makes sense.

But the question was different.
Is there such a thing as the most stable version?

By my 20 years experience with computers, most of software has "rock stable" versions that are used by pro's. I am wondering which version it is for Reaper.

Not really... REAPER updates are very frequent and incremental. Bugs get fixed all the time along with general improvements and new features. Sometimes new bugs or issues appears. Your mileage may* vary but usually the latest is best.

If an older version works better than a new one in some specific scenarios, it's probably a bug that can be fixed anyway.

(*For instance: I'm having a UI performance issue since 5.97 on macOS 10.10: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=217898. Fortunately there's an alternate download available without the problematic change.)
