Default How to update REAPER

I'm very new to REAPER and I searched the forum already back and forth, but I couldn't find how to update REAPER.

Maybe it's a stupid question, but can anybody help me? I'm now using version 6.05 and want to update to the latest version 6.07 on a WINDOWS 10 computer.

You can download from here:

https://www.reaper.fm/download.php

Choose the correct version for your system.

Are you not getting prompted to download the updates when they are available?

- Close running instance of Reaper (v6.05) in your case.
- Download new installer for your OS (also correct architecture 32/64 bit)
- Run that installer.
- During installation, navigate to the same folder where your 6.05 is already installed (maybe it will be set correctly itself by installer, but double check before proceeding, to be sure).
- After installation is done, let it start.
- You have new version (and your preferences "should" be preserved)

Hint: It is always a good practice to backup before doing anything new, of course. So maybe, export your Reaper configuration before updating at least)
It's in Preferences -> General tab -> Export configuration..." button on the right.

EDIT: He he, it took me some time to put the words together, so that toleolu was quicker

i`m on big sur Arm 64 (M1) but i can`t remember which version i installed 2 weeks ago,the normal 64 bit or the"notarized"one (not the M1 beta). Can i find the info somewhere and which version is more recommended?

Download Description warns the notarized version"may reduce compatibility with certain plug-ins" but everything works great and i can`t remember that i did the"right click/open" thing when i installed.I don`t think so...

Reaper says:

Reaper 6.23/64-clang rev 7edb0f

Yes.
Just install over your previous portable install. Any extra stuff that you have added, like JSFX and scripts are retained.
