Default midi input warning

Hi,I need some help please. I keep getting the pop up box the following midi input and outputs could not be opened ie Steinberg ur22. cant understand why or find a solution to this problem. Its everytime i open a project. Then i click on devices and enable the steinberg ur22 . There is an option to not show this message again on pop up but i think i will have the same problem minus the warning. Ive read a previous post with a similar problem but no solutions. Any help much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi,
If you still have the problem take a look at link.Issue could be related to windows power modes and uSb ??? maybe especially so if you have laptop (guessing you are on a windows machine?).

https://helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/e...ith-sleep-mode
*If that's your interface then notice there is/was a new software package available on that page.

Could there be another application running on your pc that is stealing the midi
connection? Check and see what's auto running at windows startup.
Also check for conflicting midi contol coming from connected devices (check Reaper preferences - MIDI and also Control/OSC/web for contol surface config.

Might perhaps be related to the new MIDI Device Management features introduced with 5.94/5.95: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xPR4xwEysE

I clicked the do not show this anymore option.
I started up Reaper and box did not appear.
I went to preferences/audio and made sure the warning box was enabled.
I disconnected the steinberg and started Reaper again.
The box popped up but this time the warning was only about the audio /device not connected and no mention of midi. So it seems all good now. Thank you both very much for your help with this . Much appreciate it.
