OK, what are the minimum specs I'm going to have to look for in a display in order to use this. I'm really liking this theme but I'm going to have to upgrade my current monitor to use it.

The irony of this is that I just bought Mixbus32c as I have a pair of 1920x1200 monitors, which fits their minimum spec.
The mixer controls and surrounding legends are so damn small I cant see them.
Fortunately the folks at Harrison are lovely people and are switching me back to Mixbus4, which displays better!
So I have avoided buying a High DPI monitor, which probably wouldn't work too well for reaper using my usual themes, in order to use another soft that I basically just mess around with....
*sigh* 32c looks SO pretty, too.

High resolution monitor along with HIDPi/retina support is inevitable. The future is coming!

Thanks for sharing, we need now svg support for Reaper so anyscreen could use it. On my small laptop everything looked huge, meaning useless. But cool, if I used with a bigger screen.

Yes.
I'd love to try this on my single 20 inch monitor.

Is it too hard to make a custom action in photoshop to reduce everything to 100% (200% is hidpi right?) and just modify the config file of it so we mortals can use it? (I know it's not hard to make a custom action in PS ofc, you open all files and click play and it auto modifies the file down to 100% and saves it -overwrite ofc-). I have a 4k TV and I know if I bought a new pc with a gtc titan something I could use this as it, but right now I can't even output my laptop video higher than 1080*1920. I even got win 10 but to no avail.
This theme is so awesome... sigh...

Scaling images from any size to whatever size you want is easy, if you’re not bothered with scaling interpolation, aliasing, or that kind of stuff.
The thing is, the way REAPER scale themes is not that simple. There are yellow and pink lines for example, for defining which part of the image should not be stretched, where is the active clickable area, etc. which uses 1 px border in both scale (normal vs hidpi/retina). So it’s not direct scaling multiplication/subdivision.
Moreover, REAPER 200% scale is different on OSX and Windows, currently not all element are using double scaling on OSX vs Windows. So, things could be really complicated to have a theme which support all kind of situation.
At this point, this theme has more than a thousand images. Though not everything is a unique asset, iterating each image to support both scaling on both OS would take a lot of work.

Already changed the images' size. What would I need now to change on the rtconfig file? I wanted to pm you but the button "send message" doesn't work.
And if you told me to desist, I would understand. It's your theme.

If you insist to do it by yourself...
These are steps to update themes to HiDPI/Retina support, so basically you should do the opposite

- make the images double-size-ish, except for item_*
- make double-size-ish item_*_hidpi (for Windows)
- roughly double most font sizes in the theme
- add a global_scale 2.0 line to the rtconfig.txt

Be careful with images with pink yellow/lines, they will not work straightforwardly just by changing the size of the image.
Also take note that, this theme uses a lot of custom macro which may or may not work at the downsized scale.
As the original post titled this is a Work In Progress, currently there are a lot of major changes in assets and logic arrangement from the downloadable version from my website. Whatever changes you've done in the current WIP version will look and work significantly different from the final release.

Using 4K displays, 5K displays, and Ultra HD TVs with your Mac
The article above mentioned third party monitor which support retina display on mac.
I guess any monitor which has similar specifications as mentioned in the article could be used as HiDPI monitor on Windows.

Now if you could only bring that look off 100% in Reaper I would start saving for a 4k monitor!

actually the analog face of Metric is indeed that look but viewed from different angle, with ortographic 3D projection.
otherwise, realistic 3D perspective is impossible with REAPER theme haha.

Amazing / creative / beautiful work! Thanks for sharing your efforts! So futuristic and Sci-Fi! I wish I could take this for a spin. Maybe, at some point I’ll get an upgrade...
