Default Mojave: Video Judder/Dropped Frames When Certain Plugins Selected in FX Chain

I've been using Reaper for audio post projects for several years with great success. Recently I upgraded my main workstation from a 2011 MacBook Pro to a 2018 MacBook Pro, which came pre-installed with Mojave. I am aware that Mojave is not currently officially supported for Reaper, but I had no choice but to dive in and start working on audio post for a television series. At this point I am guessing that official Mojave support is not too far in the future.

I am experiencing video judder/dropped frames when I have any FX Chain open and I select certain plugins. For example, when I select plugins by Slate Digital, video playback is without issue. But when I select plugins by Sonnox, I experience judder/dropped frames. When no FX Chain is open, video playback is also without issue.

The situation is workable, but I thought I would create a thread to see if others are experiencing this issue or if there is anything that I can try on my end to resolve it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
